Went to the Kimbell in Fort Worth to see Renoir and was lucky to grab this shot; golden hour at its best

Beautiful! A very nice work of framing the scene by you. :)

nice. I have to be in Ft. Worth for work early next year...and am going to spend extra time so that I can go to that museum. I had to study that building in school...would be nice to see it in person.

First test shoot with A7rIV. Used AD200 in TTL mode. It was raining last few days and then we had small break yesterday. For some reason it was hard for me to use the front aperture and rear dials for SS. I have set them for 0.5 stop increments but it seemed there was a delay when I move those dials.

Edited:- I should add, looking back at my Fuji GFX50s files from another quick test shoot I did 2 yrs ago at the same time, I am seeing that Fuji MF is still superior. The colors, 3d rendering or whatever one calls it is better on the Fuji. But then I was using Fuji GF 110mm f2 lens. My 105mm f1.4 arrives here in a day and will be doing more shoots. Any tips to get colors better? I am not good in pp but to learn more.

Thank you, Travis. Its a beautiful set of buildings designed by Kahn and Renzo Piano. You will enjoy it.
Here is one of many sculptures around it.

can you try to edit some uncompressed RIV files and see how it performs?

Vinz I haven't forgotten about this. I've just been busy migrating things over, finishing up my backlog of stuff to process and had a couple shoots this weekend.

But working out of capture one and PS, things are generally snappier and much smoother on the surface book...no lag when doing perspective corrections and rotations, which is where my macbook would get kind of choked up.

But the biggest slow down in workflow as we all know is in setting things to process and export, and that's where things get sort of complicated. Working off the internal SSD, things process at least twice as quickly as my old mac. But when I start working off my external hard drives, the bottleneck is in the read/write speeds of those drives. I also tried to be smart and save a bunch of money getting a 256GB model, knowing that there are slim profile adapters that allow me to shove a $50 512 micro-SD card in....but again, read and write speeds to that card become a bottleneck because it is not a UHS-II adapter.

I do have a bit of buyers remorse for not springing for the 1TB internal HD, but its an $900 upgrade. I do still have external SSD too. I just haven't had a chance to use it on my surface book since that drive is still formatted in AFPS.

256 is fine for my work Surface Pro...but for an editing machine...I would be hurting at 256...just this weekend in one day I shot 8K images...3 64GB cards and 2 32GB cards...

Yeah on my last wedding I almost filled 256gb on the a7rIV. 5k images. Disney trip was over 300gb. 7k images.

I just need to figure out my workflow. I can still process my full catalog when undocked since capture one works off the imported previews, and its snappy since the previews sit on my internal drive.

It's when importing and exporting that the bottlenecks happen. It'll be less of an issue once I get my external SSD up and running on windows. I also got an 8TB gaming hard drive to migrate all the stuff I had locked into AFPS.....250mbs so twice as fast as my current HDDs.

After thinking about it...and looking at specs...I binned the 105mm rental for this weekend...the size of that lens is not going to be something I want to use...and its too close to 85...so I extended my 135GM rental and picked it up today..I have a basketball game to shoot tonight that was not originally on my schedule...so first testing...the dog is the only subject home today...wow...what a lens...it delivers in truck loads...super fast, super accurate, super sharp and destroys backgrounds...sold...will be putting my order in when I get home next week...gotta sell off some stuff and collect some outstanding invoices...but dang...

just a quick snap...

and has anyone else had LR sort them wrong by capture time...the last 5 in the sequence by file number and what I know to be the last frames...in LR show up out of order with the rest when sorted by time...I have had this issue at the track too.

Looks like a killer lens! I've been on the fence about it for awhile.

I am no longer on the fence...after 5 minutes with it...I am sure that after shooting the e-session this coming weekend...I will be fully involved...LOL...I love the 135L and that FL...but the flaky behavior of it adapted now after all the FW updates makes me not trust it and not use it...so...going native. Probably pick up a little 50mm f/1.8 too at some point just to have that FL...since the 50ART will be going too.

Lol that's why I'm scared to rent one. It'll be like the a7rIV again.
