That would be my pick if looking for a MF solution, relatively expensive and of course digfficult to find one without the haze issue of course.

are people supposed to get that close to them...I thought I remember seeing signs out at Point Reyes that you needed to stay back a pretty good ways...just to not have any influence on their behavior.

You are supposed to stay at lest "2 car lengths" according to the sign the other day. These folks were at a respectful distance but they appear closer due to the zoom lens. The will be shutting the beach completely before long though as soon as pups appear. For their size these guys can move surprisingly fast across the sand.

Pretty impressive, normally that's a shot you would not take .. Always want a lot more than than in the frame to snap the shutter
