Taking a small break from editing red rock images to share this scene of a small frozen pond. I think it would make for one tough puzzle to assemble.

On my monitor, her skin looks a little on the orange side. I'd probably adjust the white balance to look a bit cooler, kinda like this. I realize that skin tones are very subjective though. I just thought I'd share what I perceive as far as skin tone.

Thank you.. yes yours definetly looks better.

I always struggle with the amount of orange in skin tones.. either too much or too little .. but yours looks just right!

xpfloyd wrote in post #18986257 (external link)
I was scrolling on my phone there so get a proper look of the first version before I looked at the second. I actually really like the first version style. The second one looks more vibrant and natural I suppose having now seen the two of them but if I had only seen the first and thought you meant that style I would have liked it.

Take what I say with a pinch of salt though as I don’t shoot portraits and don’t know what I’m talking about with them

I appreciate the comment.

i like the look of the first one as well, as far as the mood i was going for .. although , if it were a filter i'd probably dial it back to about 60% today .
if the shot was for a paying client i would most likely hand over option 2 .. and so lately , because I've been trying to push a bit more for paid work I've been trying to get better at editing in a way that most people would want .. and my guess is that she'd like number 2 better than 1..

my personal prefernace is for the way i origanlly .. but again today i'd probably dial it back a bit.

Bianchi wrote in post #18986443 (external link)
I dont think you cant go wrong with either, just depends what you or client is going after. I think you did a better job with the eyes on the second, and its more high fashion. Overall very nice work

A couple favorite portrait tog's I follow for a little inspiration.

I've slacked off on the street shooting in 2019.. trying to get back into it..

i was drawn to the woman in photo one... of course because of her hat and jackets viabrancy on such a gray and dreary day.. i attempted to intersect her 2 blocks up to get a better shot... but my street ninja skills were off.. and she shot me a dirty look.. so i respectfully backed away.. i didn't want to be a creep about it-?

Randall, if you do much paid work in portraiture, I highly recommend the Portrait Pro plugin. You can be as conservative or agressive as you want in your edits and it does a great job adjusting skin tones and lighting. I would advise you get the Studio version in order to work on raw files. The newest PortraitPro Studio version, 19, is $69.95.

Could easily do that.
I found that branch on a long walk. Broke off what I needed and toted it home.

Just WoW! Butterflies flit around so quickly, and light on flowers so momentarily, I rarely have time to get them in the viewfinder, let alone focus. It is rare for me to see one stay in one place for more than a moment or two.

"Dragon's Tail"

Looking out at massive red stones that continue to the horizon. Such an amazing place to visit in Colorado. These remind me of armor plates from a dinosaur or scales on a dragon' back or tail.

And being streaked with snow/ice really makes the rock texture stand out in a variegated way like certain leaves.

Lee, I liked the original sig, but agree this one is slightly better.

And happy new year all. I've taken plenty of family pics over the festive season, although just been rubbish at sharing them! Will share a couple soon!

I knew I had to call into here with the weather conditions we had...... Really, I should have went more to the left & cropped out the gates but that was thick mud & I couldn't be bothered to put my hiking boots back on again...... But it's okay. I do like the overlapping hills & low cloud in the distance on the left.

Oh, tweaked signature too ;)

EDIT - Hmmmmmmm....... I think the text is a little too big for my liking...
