Sounds like the future A7IV could be perfect for those of us who don’t want to deal with the huge file sizes but still would love to have the improved ergos and other improvements like (hopefully) colored AF point, real time tracking, dual UHS-II, etc.

It will be interesting to see when they finally release the A7IV (which I personally don’t think would be this year) how much they actually upgrade the ergonomics. I figure stuff like real time teaching would be a definite considering the A6400 even has it, but I don’t expect them to put it at the same level as the RIV otherwise it will cut into its sales.

I wish you'd do a Gene-like video on how to do bokeh balls like that!

My girlfriend is going away in a few weeks so I’ll have the house to myself so I’d be happy to make one!

:-) OT Warning...

I tend to use my computer and monitor to watch most videos and movies streaming online. My current monitor is a Dell UltraSharp U2717D, 27" at 2560 x 1440 resolution. Since I can stream 4k movies, and have a 4k external player, I'm thinking about upgrading to a 4k monitor. Due to space limitations, I'd like to keep the dimensions at 27 or 28 inches and being HDR 10 compatible would be a plus. I'm not brand limited and I do want a quality viewing experience.

Does anyone have a recommendation or two for a monitor that meets those requirements for me?

Gene , this is the monitor I am going to purchase for my PC build. 4K UHD but also gets amazing reviews online for colour accuracy

Edit - I purchased this monitor today along with all the other components for my new editing PC build - excited!

Some of the critters at the Phoenix Botanical Gardens.

Paul that's a beautiful series.
That squirrel shot is a beauty.
How it's crown jewels don't get spiked is amazing.

The lower one is a lovely bird.
Very nice.

I've been leaning towards that one too. Here's the link for the US version for comparison.

Congrats on the new PC as well. I've been in the PC universe since my days with a Commodore 64. ߑ Ͱߒ

That last image of the red rocks made it on Flickr explore. Do y’all think there is still hope for Flickr?

Good price there Gene! I hope it lives up to the reviews I have read. I was a spectrum guy as opposed to a C64 :)

Congrats Alfredo, well deserved. I meant to reply to your old man of Storr comment - that’s actually what popped into my head when I first viewed your image! With regards to Flickr, I hope it does survive

Sorry for all the computer chat guys but I have another query for you all - is anyone using Acronis True Image as their backup/cloning software? Are there any better alternatives?

On my Mac I’ve got a great backup setup but switching back to PC has meant I need to rethink things. I don’t have cloud backup and don’t want it at the moment

Thank you Eddie. I hope so too. I’ve taken a break from Instagram since it was getting to be too much.

Congrats on the custom pc and monitor. That’s the brand I would get as well.

Anyone here a 'detective'? ;-)a

I've been messing with a couple of old portraits I have and by looking at these two images, I began to wonder if it isn't the same person taken at different times in his life or is the one on the left a son of the one on the right?

Looking at the way his hair is parted, the eyebrows, nose, and ears, what do you think?

The man on the right is my great-grandfather.

Gene, for what I see.. for the most part they do look identical. but what I see different that tells me no are the eyes. Your great grandfather has a double eyelid while the other doesnt show.
