Next time I go I will probably stay inside to catch sunrise etc. there are three main places to stay inside the park if you are not camping or in an RV...there is a small motel in Stovepipe Wells, very close to Mesquite Dunes. And there are two hotels, one nicer than the other in Furnace Creek. We stay at the less expensive one in Furnace Creek...it is 10 minutes to Zabriskie, 30 to Badwater, 30 to Mesquite....has a restaurant and general store...easy location to base out of... Website
