Really nice, Robert. It appears that the R4 does BIF pretty good. Do you feel confident with it in that role?

Bill. Yes/no/maybe/yin yang.
Better than the Riii...def. yes and no. Yes to better overall AF and AF acqusition. No in that the files are harder and in a couple of ways = have to significantly
push shutter for the 61mpx (if in that mode) and harder in that the 61 is way way less forgiving for where focus is.
a9, not close BUT the Harrier was same situation I've been in before where I could have used a9 and it would have achieved better focus I'm sure and be way
less forgiving on the pixel level but I need the cropability, they just never get close enough for me, and in that vain the Riv gives and gives and gives. Remind me
again why the heck the a9ii was not 36mpx ????? Yeah I know the a9R is coming ;)

I think the Riv is a fantastic backup for the a9 and can do just so much more ... landscaping/macro/astro. Yes a9 can too but you know what I mean. 18 days from
the Florida flight. I'll play more there with the Riv.

Beautiful image Travis!

Thanks David. So far so good. I did fall twice yesterday. Need some ice crampons.

Consider these (I have four pair), great unless truly doing alpine work. Microspikes-

I get'm flying low and slow. This male hummer was taking advantage of my beautiful branch to use as an overlook for 'his' feeder.

It was getting dark outside so I threw a flash on the RIV to get this shot. I'm surprised he hadn't flown away in the time it took to go get the flash and put it on.

Thank you sir!

Thanks! Hope you can make it to DV next month...

Thank you but unfortunately, I won't be able to make it. Not enough PTO at work especially since I'm planning a family for spring break.

---------------

The hike started with blue skies but quickly changed to storm clouds and then snow. I captured these hikers to provide some scale to the size of the pine trees.

During the peak of the snowfall, I captured these shots of the aspen trees.

Alfredo this series is very nice.
I was struck by the first one with the pine trees in foreground and misty mountains at rear,
But they are all very nice, depicts nature at its best.

Wow what do you want! Ha!
I've learned a trick. When in Zone focus, push the joystick up, pushing the AF square up....get less AF misses on the ground below. Works
on water too where the AF is seeing ripples and wants to jump from the target to the water. Won't happen in AF Tracking but that mode takes that half-second to get
lock where Zone does not. Sometimes that 1/2 sec. matters.

I have pretty much quit using any of the tracking for BIF.

I haven't quit but am selective when using. Have Zone on the AF-on and tracking on AEL, make a quick decision and move the thumb!

One more from yesterday. The flash really makes the feathers 'sparkle' when struck by the light.

Thank you very much! The first one looks nice viewed large and would make a nice print I believe. I wish I could have gotten the contact info for the hikers.
