Thanks Eddie

Lots of people suggested FE55 for first all around lens and went with the advice. Having used Canon 85 f/1.2 in the past for mostly bokeh, I must say FE55 isn't bad at all.

I’ve owned it twice before and sometimes think about going for it again

One of those days just taking my mind off of things :)

I wanted a total chill dreamy vast soundstage so I pulled out one of my favourite vacuum tube combos.

The room ambiance filled with Mercury blue vapour rectifier tubes feeding my 6L6 smoked coke bottle Digital to Analog converter.........

I’m scared to google what all that means in case I end up down an audio rabbit hole that I can’t get out of without splashing cash :D

I love the sound of a good tube amp....a friend of mine has one setup to some good floor speakers in his studio in SF...love staying there, music is on all the time...and a lot of records.

Eddie...it is a rabbit hole as deep as camera gear...and can be just as expensive...but unless you have a good space where you can enjoy it...it is hard to justify.

I am in Houston this weekend...my best friend of 34 years was getting married again...Carlo was on hand to shoot too...I won't call it second shooting...since he is way beyond that...but we had fun...turns out he went to school with the bride!

One of the last frames of the night...close to midnight after I dropped them off at the hotel...it is grainy, tilted and not perfect...but I don't care...it is exactly the type of image I was going for...thanks for coming out to shoot Carlo...those r4 files are huge...

I really enjoyed shooting with the A7III...I think it might have sold me on adding one to the bag...faster in Mechanical shutter than the a9, handles LED lights and Flicker better...and pairs nicely with the a9 for gigs like this.

This isn't a traditional Brit breakfast I know but more in line with what I like. I used HP sauce on the steak potatoes and put the Sarson's on the table on a whim. I should have put the sauce on the potatoes before I took the shot. Oh well, next time.

I should note that I really liked the back bacon. It tastes like the thick cut bacon from pork belly that I'm used to, just with a lot more lean and less fat.

Playing with the a6400+MC-11+EOS 1.4TCiii+400DOii
I think this is a White-throated Sparrow. A huge crop but the pixel density of
the a6400 is not far behind the Riv 6.62 MP/cm² vs. 7.18 MP/cm².
I thought the combo would be ungainly but it wasn't so bad. I put the camera+lens combo
onto a monopod with a Jobu gimbal to hold it all.

Anyone know if Clear Image Zoom (CIZ) can be used for still shots vs video's. The tuts I was watching, they all were demoing it in video mode

I seen they use Apc mode for a 1.5 factor and with CIZ its another 1.5 factor, that's alot of zoom on a Full Frame Camera. Then factor in if your using a 1.4 TC on your lens

The tuts I watched all said you dont loose IQ in Apc & CIZ combined.

Anyone here have any first hand experience with any of this ?

Thanks !!!

Waaay off topic but my sister just sent this and I had to share. I hope no one minds.

This photo postcard from my great aunt was sent to her husband in 1912. On the back, it reads "I had a dinner party last night of which this is a photo. I got very tired of my company I can assure you".

Photo manipulation from 108 years ago.

The postcard is from the White Way Photo Studio, 1341 Broadway, New York. Apparently, they specialized in this style of photography.

That must of been very hard to blend in a darkroom... Very talented/skilled tog back then !!!

Maybe he/she is the new Ansel Adams, to bad the photograher's name is not know. Perhaps a search in archives may lead to know who owned White Way Photo Studio.

Actually, I did find that out but didn't think it was relevant to my post and now I don't recall the name. I would have to re-search/investigate.

Since this photo and the other examples I've seen are identical, they were probably multiple exposures on a single negative with everything locked down so no blending necessary in the darkroom.

My first bangers and mash. Well, I've had mashed potatoes many times but this is the first time for British style bangers. I'd say they have a smoother texture inside and are very mild. The casing was 'crunchier' than I expected and I liked them.

Found a new wetlands on the edge of Phoenix. I'm not pulling the sharp shots i need to work on my BIF and settings

But I chased a Harrier for an hour and finally got a bit of a shot of it.... Those things are big but hang so low in the reeds.
