Here is my boy and me, all the with 85 Samyang, which, coming from the Canon 85mm 1.8, is a gazillion times better. Absolutely love it and the optics are top drawer IMHO...

Last post, promise!!

Two from new years using the 55, and then two of birds in my back garden using the 200-600. Gotta say, it is a little bigger and heavier than I was expecting!! But getting used to it a little now. First time using a supertele. Had the 70-300L before, this thing is literally twice the length and weight. I want to stick to hand holding, Im using the tripod collar now to take most of the weight, which allows me to zoom in/out fairly easily. Any tips for a supertele novice!?

All great shots! The Samyang reminds me of the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX version which isn’t good as it makes me tempted to buy one!

Getting it right with 11 people, 3 being kids is not easy...a blend of 4 images...this is where 20FPS comes into play...just fire a ton of shots off and pick the ones you need out! With the 135GM...that still isn't in the DB...

Update on that...I love that lens...when the A73 arrives, I am going to see if the 135L plays nice on it or not...if it does, great...if not...the 135GM will be next...

Nice! Those group shots are a real challenge. I'll have to try your technique next time I have to shoot a group.

Sony may release a 300 2.8 GM before summer????!!!!!!!

Crap that could be interesting..... and expensive

That’s the one I’ve been waiting on! It’s going to be north of $6k I’m sure, so I won’t be able to swing that at launch (after buying a new HVAC system and my oldest starting college) but I’ll be saving my pennies where I can.

Hi all, so I haven't posted any pics for ages, so here are the last few months worth! Sorry if its overload!

A visit to the Brecons four falls walk in October, 16-35 GM did very well on the A7iii, got quite damp and wet with all the rain and mist, I tried to keep it dry in-between shots, but it was quite wet at times, didn't miss a beat :-)

Nothing at all like the shots I came away with.... :) That's why I like this photography game.

Edit. That 85mm really appears to pop too. Great images. Great memories.

Same! I was looking on eBay last night. Couldn’t find a single lens though oddly?

That’s strange, for the Samyang or the Sigma?

I’d have to sell my FE 85mm and it’s such a hassle buying and selling locally.

The sigma 85 1.4 (original). I had it previously and it focussed fast on the Sony. I’ll probably end up with the FE85 1.8 but would be tempted by the sigma again if I seen one due to the cost savings

Edit - just checked there and found it. Not as cheap as I had in my head! I thought they were about £200 but they are about £440. The FE 85 is £385 brand new

You considered trying the Samyang? I kind of wish I kept my Sigma and I'm tempted by the Samyang, but the Sony 85mm is just hard to get rid of as it's so good.

I'd definitely get the Sony if that's the case.

I'm resisting the urge to change all my gear. After getting the 16-35mm GM, I feel like I'd be better off with the 24mm GM and selling my FE 35mm. I might rent the Sigma 24mm for a few days to see how I like the FL.
