that is what I thought...and since I use the r2 almost exclusively in mechanical...I wanted to test the a9 that is used primarily in electronic...which is good for me...I have used it a lot more in that mode! Surprised it is actually that high in mechanical...

I visited my parents in S. Korea last week. Drank every day and night (catching up with family and relatives) during my week stay, so didn't get to shoot much. My cousins did take me out once and so here are some photos to share.

Is there a way to adjust the time stamp on photos....like move them all by a set number of minutes....

Had the pleasure of assisting Travis with a wedding last weekend and doing a quick shoot of family. Fun stuff.

Nice! Those group shots are a real challenge. I'll have to try your technique next time I have to shoot a group.

i know it's old school but shooting group especially with kids, i recommend using a tripod. why? because it's easy to swap heads or faces in post if they are in the exact same angle.

another advantage is, you can keep your shutter finger while directing or calling the attention of kids, and when there's an opportunity, fire away. this is also where back button focus helps. Goodluck.

another tip, when shooting family with kids, don't let other relatives hanging around behind you making the kids smile, the kids will look all over the place.

one day, i shoot a family and the grandparents were behind me trying to grab the kid's attention... i asked them nicely to leave. lol

I do it handheld and am just firing away...I have gotten pretty good at blending people in...

When I use my Canon gear I use "one-shot AF-S" and focus / recompose. This method has always worked for me with extreme accuracy during run/gun events. This also utilized red focus assist when bouncing flash. My Canon almost never AF hunted 99.99% of the time.

Sony on the other hand seems to have very inaccurate AF-S while using the old focus/recompose technique. I use the focus/hold technique and then use another button for eye AF. I will say this is where I still struggle with Sony as the AF-C does not activate the red focus assist in the Godox V1. So this I where AF-S in sony is not very good and it also cannot take advantage of the red focus assist (that doesn't work well with mirrorless anyways).

I've been to outdoor evening events and my Canon 5mdk3/4 using bounce flash never ever misses a beat and has incredible accuracy. There was a forest light show this xmas that I attended and the Sony with Gmaster 16-35 or primes still hunted in low light while I tried to take family/portait shots. So in Dec if I used my 5dmk4 I would have had ZERO issues but my Sony I felt like throwing it in the lake sometimes !!! LOL!!!! The hunting was quite annoying and I ended up shooting manual focus with focus peaking.

Previously, I downloaded Mark Galer's settings and experimented with them. I'm not a big fan of his but playing with his Custom settings helped me get more comfortable with higher ISO settings. I still don't like auto-ISO that much, but have a better appreciation for my Sony's ability at high ISO's.

I'm not shooting for income from my photography, its my hobby and I have the luxury of experimenting. Just trying to learn more and work out what customization works best for me.

I still use BBF, I also have Eye-AF mapped to the AEL button...I don't use Auto ISO at all...I find that sometimes it jumps way too high. While 51200 is nice to have if you absolutely need it...on the r4 it is still pretty grainy and can't handle much manipulation.

In the past, I freaked out if the ISO went over 1600. Getting up to 6400 was a big step for me.
