I have had a Gitzo Explorer for years and it has been pretty reliable, magnesium is susceptible to corrosion and there are samples of failures like that on the web, check out FM. I much prefer machined component like on the RRS tripods use. I always thought RRS was over priced, but you make a valid point, especially when you see the results of die casting in extreme temperatures.. Eddie wrote in post #18998619 So was it my imagination or are some of you guys using the Leofoto travel tripod? I’m thinking of picking one up for my Iceland trip Gitzo and Leofoto owner. There is a guy on FM that regularly sells new one's on the B/S forum, better pricing than Flea Bay

It's nice to see an old friend again. EDIT: I've replaced the first edit of my Porsche with a second one that adds my sig to the license plate. ![]()

Pic is great how did you scan it Thanks. I have an Epson V600 and scanned using the included software. I believe I scanned at 48 bit and 2400dpi. The biggest issue I had was dust removal, even though I handled the negatives while wearing vinyl gloves and using my rocket blower once mounted in the 35mm holder. Gene - My Photo Gallery ||

Itsed65 Cream of the Crop More info | Jan 26, 2020 16:34 | #36789 One of my favorite roads in California. Mainly because it leads to my favorite place to photograph birds, the Lower Klamath and Tule Lake NWR's. I just got back from a 3 day trip and it was one of the best or at least most sucessful I have had in a while. The only bummer was that the road to rim village up at Crater Lake was closed due to heavy snow. We spotted over 50 eagles on the first day alone and also got some amazing landscapes as well, using 3 Sonys and a Fuji (A9 A7R4 RX10IV and X-T3). The only bummer is that I took a bad spill on the trip home and sprained the you know what out of my ankle. Klamath Birding Highway Fuji XT-2, XT-3, Sony A1, A7RIV, A9, and an OM-1

What have you folks found that works best?
