Another one from yesterday. Looks like I forgot to turn on the strip box on the left side.

The a73 plays much better with the 135L...which makes me happy.

I like it with the shadow, creates nice depth.

Wow that sucks! Hopefully they can repair it. I have had a Gitzo Explorer for years and it has been pretty reliable, magnesium is susceptible to corrosion and there are samples of failures like that on the web, check out FM. I much prefer machined component like on the RRS tripods use.

I always thought RRS was over priced, but you make a valid point, especially when you see the results of die casting in extreme temperatures..

So was it my imagination or are some of you guys using the Leofoto travel tripod? I’m thinking of picking one up for my Iceland trip

Gitzo and Leofoto owner. There is a guy on FM that regularly sells new one's on the B/S forum, better pricing than Flea Bay
Just as happy with Leofoto as my Gitzo. I believe they are machined and about 1/3 the price of Gitzo

Look into the LS line

I would also look at the Series II tripods from FLM, Eddie. Good pricing for high quality.

Here I go again. I was excited to discover the color negatives for my 1972 Porsche 914 taken at my house in 1974. Here's one of the images.

It's nice to see an old friend again.

EDIT: I've replaced the first edit of my Porsche with a second one that adds my sig to the license plate.

Thanks. I have an Epson V600 and scanned using the included software. I believe I scanned at 48 bit and 2400dpi. The biggest issue I had was dust removal, even though I handled the negatives while wearing vinyl gloves and using my rocket blower once mounted in the 35mm holder.

I tried the Silverfast 8 scanning software demo and love the way it removes dust but last night it crashed while I was going through the different modules and it hasn't worked since. Hopefully, I'll hear back from support so I can get it working again. I like the software and wouldn't mind spending the money on it...if it worked. I have to say the interface is confusing as they use cryptic icons to access the various 'tools' and some tools seem to be redundant.

One of my favorite roads in California. Mainly because it leads to my favorite place to photograph birds, the Lower Klamath and Tule Lake NWR's. I just got back from a 3 day trip and it was one of the best or at least most sucessful I have had in a while. The only bummer was that the road to rim village up at Crater Lake was closed due to heavy snow. We spotted over 50 eagles on the first day alone and also got some amazing landscapes as well, using 3 Sonys and a Fuji (A9 A7R4 RX10IV and X-T3). The only bummer is that I took a bad spill on the trip home and sprained the you know what out of my ankle.
As an amputee, I only have one to begin with, so getting around right now is quite painful, but on the other hand I have plenty of time to sit and go through a few thousand images :p

Those wavy asphalt roads are always fun to drive too.

I hope your sprain heals quickly. I understand a nip of 'medicinal' brandy helps ease the suffering.

Looking forward to your images from the trip.

Sipping on some 4 Roses Single Barrel as I type this ;-)a

While I had a perfectly capable set of landscape lenses in the back of the car, the light was fading, so I just took a series with my A9 and the 200-600 (with the 1.4 mounted no less!) and ended up with this 5 shot stitch pano. I am not sure of the peak name but looking at a map it may be called Mount Dome. This is looking south from the Lower Klamath NWR. Mount Shasta is off to the right out of frame.

"Eruption"

The clouds near these peaks caught some brilliant color during sunrise. The colors here may look artificially boosted but they were very close to the scene I witnessed. I was frantically shooting different compositions to catch the moment. It all looked like a volcano had erupted near the peak.

try to feather the main light next time. meaning you don't point it to her directly to avoid hotspots. have the light facing to the right and about 3 feet away from your subject(point down a bit).

it's what i did here and just a V-flat on camera right for fill.

I know the Loxia 35/2 isn't all that sharp wide open, but I think I need to get better noise reduction software than LR and Nik. What have you folks found that works best?
