I always thought RRS was over priced, but you make a valid point, especially when you see the results of die casting in extreme temperatures..

Gitzo and Leofoto owner. There is a guy on FM that regularly sells new one's on the B/S forum, better pricing than Flea Bay
Just as happy with Leofoto as my Gitzo. I believe they are machined and about 1/3 the price of Gitzo

Look into the LS line

i have a leofoto LH-40 Ballhead and i love it. it's looks RRS too.

Hi Robert, it’s the 284C I’m looking at for use as a travel tripod. Any issues with it? It gets a great write up and it’s a good price too

I know the Loxia 35/2 isn't all that sharp wide open, but I think I need to get better noise reduction software than LR and Nik. What have you folks found that works best?

Topaz DeNoise AI is the best I have used.

I downloaded the trial version yesterday.

Do you use it as a plug in to LR-PS or a standalone app?

Hey Eddie. It is a stellar tripod. To me it is pricey, around $350 USD but that's probably close to 1/2 of a Gitmo...I've never priced the Gitmo though. But travel? Yep for you
but I'd never hike with it! That age thing :( For the hikes I'd still take my aging Sirui 25 but that's pushing the weight envelope too.

That tree and dry grass looks like something that might be seen on the African Savana rather than the UK.
