Finally had my first shoot with my new Sony a7 III yesterday. Ironically, I don't think this is the kind of photos that I can even post in this thread!
In any case, looking at the photos I shot (with the 35 & 85), it seems like the vast majority are not only in focus, but are so sharp that I'm applying de-sharpening to them in post, not something I do very often...
That being said, the camera did not feel very 'responsive', where I often couldn't tell whether my photos were going to be in focus or not (with Eye AF, principally in situations where I was shooting wide, all the time in relatively dark rooms). Couldn't track them down during the shoot, so I can't compare to what I actually got, but it seems like more are in focus than the time where I didn't get proper confirmation of focus. Anyone else has had that kind of experience?
Please give yourself time to adapt to Sony. You should use AF-C and that's about it for Sony. I'm not fond of the accuracy of af-s. Using AF-C you should get an extremely high keeper rate.
With Sony you do not even need to sharpen. Tweak colours and your other adjustments and that's pretty much it.
