A touch'o lanscaping with the 200600.
On the trip my longest day of carry was 10 miles. 6 at Circle Bar B then we drove
to Orlando Wetlands, which I think is even bigger for wetlands, trails, giant pools of water,
and another 4 miles walked. This with the a9+200600+1.4TC on my back.
Granted, walking in Florida is a bit different than walking here on the fells.

Forgot to mention, you all know about Flickr's new click to zoom in. On this shot you can do it twice. See if
you can find the Heron on nest and not the obvious Heron.

Very well presented, thought out, executed.
Love the overall results.
I assume you blended two shots.
Did you use Photopills or the android version for pre-knowledge of placement.
If not, where you are I'd add the app and start practicing with it.
10 star.

Thanks Robert! I blended in a darker frame to recover some highlight detail from the moon. Although I have PhotoPills and use it for planning my shots, this one was pure luck. I was off shooting a different scene when I turned around and saw the moon rising. I quickly changed lenses and setup my composition. This was a final square crop from a landscape oriented original version. I wanted to emphasize the lines of the red rocks and the moon in the center.

OK Eddie. Gene.
We've always done the rock-gut Seagrams
but this weekend for a treat I'll look for Tenqueray or Brockman.

Make sure you get “number 10” if you get tanqueray. The standard tanqueray is not as nice IMO

I have 544 days 20 hours 29 mins and 54 secs left of stress.

Reading this made me put the numbers into Excel. We are very close. 528 days and (as of right this minute) 4 hours. ;-)a

Not saying I will retired exactly on that date, but that is when I can, and it will be very close.

So I’ve got the opportunity to tag along with my wife to a conference in Scottsdale AZ. Anybody know if there’s any kind of desert landscape photo opportunities nearby? I’ve never been there.

Sorry just saw this. How much time do you have. Minimally hit the Desert Botanical Gardens 5 min from downtown

If you have more time head east and you can get a lot of Saguaros http://goldfieldghosttown.com/ (external link) there is a state park one mile up the road from here with great views of the Superstitions Mountains

Inside Mo's astro workshop.
At the end of each telescope is a red round ZWO astro specific camera. They have Sony sensors :) This where
he and I (me mostly watching the Mo magic) took apart a Celestron AVX mount and 'lubed' it after lots of polishing
of moving metal things.

question .. compressed vs uncompressed

I have a baby shower i'm shooting tomorrow..

white ceilings , white walls .. flourecscnet lighting...its a very basic (humble)party rental space so no moody lighting or colors , should be decently lit.

i'll have on camera flash most of the time most likely even if just for a little fill , and there will be a little area they've set aside where i'll have my ad360's with umbrellas for the special shots..

I know there's been know to be aritifacts with compressed in high dynamic range landscapes for example ..

but i'm thinking compressed is fine for this sort of event?

I normally just go uncompressed.. but with the 7r4:cry:

ill be taking quite a bit of photos.. would love to cut down on how many cards I fill.

any thoughts would be appreciated.

I’m always compressed. Never really noticed an issue so don’t bother with the larger files

I'm with you.....

I use compressed with everything I shoot and I do not feel any serious handicap while post processing.

I shoot uncompressed BUT I do convert to DNG on import. I don’t notice any difference either.

Just 36 more days before I celebrate the 9th year of my retirement. Where does the time go?
