It has been a slow process getting back into this hobby. There is "waiting for opportunities to shoot," and then there is "creating opportunities to shoot." I'm trying to wiggle back into that second category.
I've started taking this composition class
on LinkedIn Learning just to spark my creativity a bit and give myself some assignments. The class (more like a webinar) looks at everything in black & white, which is definitely helpful for thinking about composition -- shapes, lines, how the frame is divided, light vs. dark, etc. I feel like I have an adequate handle on composition, but there is always so much more to learn, especially via explicit practice.

I also found myself downtown a few nights ago with a friend, and I tried my hand at some street photography, which is not something I've ever done. I find good street photography really compelling, and I know it's not easy. I'm not sure if this image works since my subject is the darkest part of the frame, but I kind of liked it anyway. Very open to comments!
