No social distancing for me here in the hospital. We do have our temperature taken when we walk in :)

Work in-box super saturated with directives. More than I can read.

Work imposed travel restrictions. If I go anywhere out of our 'region' I have to be tested before returning to work
and wear a mask while at work. I have to apply to corporate for permission to travel out of our 'region'.

While working I see the diagnosis on the computer screen, the key words are 'droplet/isolation/respiratory failure acute/community acquired pneumonia'.
In my immediate area the rate of COVID admissions are doubling every 2.5 days.

Fuji X-T4 preordered :)

And still enjoying the EOS 400mm F5.6 on the Riv

Nice, I knew should have kept my 400. Well, I obviously didn't but you know what I mean...

Down here in New Zealand, we have just been put on Covid-19 shutdown. Any businesses not deemed essential, e.g. supermarkets, banks etc will have to close from midnight Weds for 4 weeks.

Being self employed, this is going to hit really hard unless the banks and government come in with some help packages.

I'll have a lot of time in and around the house to photograph things, and hopefully be able to get out for some astro as long as we stay 2 meters away from anyone else.

Take care all, and hopefully we can all come through this.

Gary

AF via the MC-11 is really good.
I'm hoping to use it on the X-T4 in about 6 weeks. That's looking
more and more doubtful as the country collapses inward but one
can hope.

I'm guessing AF is good as long as centre or close to centre AF point used?

Stay safe Gary. Are supermarkets being closed? Surely they need to remain open for you guys to get food?

That is one of the reasons I do really want to go ,everything will be empty! lol. It's honestly so overblown and once a new major event happens, the media will jump on that and this will die down.

PM said today "this will be the toughest year of our lives".

Do you still think it's "overblown" ?

Much respect to you Robert.

Now that this thing is here, I'm really concerned for you guys...the lack of protective equipment is an issue and a blunder on the US, who has grown overly reliant on other countries for manufacturing. In other parts of the world, masks have just become a part of everyday life, but here in the US we can't even get them to medical professionals.

Anyway, I have a lot of friends in the medical field and they are concerned, but are ready to take this on. You guys are heroes for sure.

Yeah, I would say: a joystick, a front wheel for shutter speed, and a centered EVF (please no more rangefinder-type crap!). I so hate that design.

Actually, at this point, I'm wondering if the A7000 model name/number could be an indication that they might stick it into an a7 body, something like the a7R IV (i.e. the latest iteration in ergonomics). That would be rad.

In the uk though they are classing supermarkets as key services along with the nhs and the railways (that suits me as I work in construction on the railway. We have been given “key worker” status to continue working so that freight trains can keep delivering food)

Beautiful work Carlo.

Thank you guys!

nice set, but that first one is the clear standout. Which ones if any were with the 135GM?

Only the last shot in the ceremony is the 135GM. I find that I didn't use it much. It's a really nice lens but when I'm in my natural flow and shooting things as I see them, 135mm just doesn't "fit". Could be a mental thing and sticking to what I'm used to though.

I'm looking forward to the Tamron 70-180. It looks like they are still on schedule despite Coronavirus so I may grab one. Trying to keep expenditures down right now though because who knows what is going to happen.

I have friends working in the ICU that are legit making their own masks a home right now.

Saw a tutorial use a big HVAC filter , cut to pieces with a neck scarf. Pretty simple to make, and if you use the higher level filter, it catches ask the way down to the virus level. I have a box of nitrile gloves in the car for the rare time I have to leave.
On a related note, my BIL may lose his job and I am considering turning my garage into a living space to house his small family........ him and his wife are getting a bit desperate..... no work for both parents and California living expenses....

I have been making my own https://www.facebook.com …4MDcxMDY0MTQyMTMwODU1MjY/ (external link)
and this lady had a similar idea. Since I don't have bras that I can chop up, I used her pattern with coated paper clips to go around the nose and instead of 2 layers of that filter, I decided to make 1 layer plus cotton fabric because the filter texture is fluffy and not pleasant around my face.
Here is the other lady's video https://www.youtube.com …DlVxQx1k&feature=emb_logo (external link)
