it worked this time. It sure is tempting...I already have the DJI Osmo Pocket, and when connected to my Rode Mic it does well, just not very wide. I need longer arms...but it won't do for a second B Roll camera or BTS rig...this little one might be easier to wrangle than the A7III but I sure do love the IQ of the full frame.

I have viewed a couple of videos where it's thought that 24mm isn't wide enough for selfies, especially if 'active' SteadyShot is used as that crops in a little.

I think 24 is fine...any wider and you start getting a lot of distortion...and people look really funny that way.

And speaking of the DJI...Episode #10 is online now and has a little DJI Osmo footage in it. This is one of the shorter videos I have done and it took probably the longest to edit and piece together. It is amazing how much time goes into this.

I am holding off on my decision if I am going to sell the 100-400 with Covid I have not had the chance to really feel out the 70-180 and 200-600. But in repacking my bags right now the 100-400 is sitting in the back up equipment pelican case and the 200-600 is glued to the 2x and A9 in my backpack.

The 100-400 is so stellar of a lens I am real interested to hear the opinions of the sigma vs it.

Not at MSRP. Super tele is a specialized need for me, but the MSRP is at a level where I might pull the trigger if I can snipe an eBay listing at a good price or something

My LumeCube Panel Mini arrived today, and finally, I have something to use on the DJI or the FF body when I am trying to do video in the dark...it works exactly like I wanted, too bad I bought three other devices first...and no LED flicker which was an issue on another device I tried...now I see why people need a smallrig cage...

I've got 4 cages now :-P

however, I finally hit the sweet spot. My criteria

1. Hold the mic
2. Protect the mic jack
3. Fit inside of my peak design 3L...... yes, the 3L, a tiny bag, keeps me from overpacking.
4. Holds a light like the one you mentioned, I'm using an older aputure M9, tiny, lightweight, inexpensive ($25 ebay open box years back)

optional
5. Top handle mount.... I'm too scared to use the hot shoe flash, fear of damage.

I figured out how to rig it right and satisfy 1-4 with a half rig, a full rig with half components removed, not the same as a off the shelf half rig.

I can mount the light on the hot shoe, mic is mounted with a custom rig attachment. Most scenarios, I dont use the light, so I have the simplicity of taking the whole rig in and out of my bag without needing to remove anything. Fast convenient access is what I'm all about, I cant fiddle with gear when I'm around my kids.

I have been fiddling with this scene for a couple days...I shot this one on both the A7r2 and the A7III. At first I was not sure which I liked better, they both looked a bit different, but I ended up going with the version from the a7III. It caught 3 shooting stars and one satellite...I almost cloned that out...and it caught one plane that I did clone out. I had not been out under the night sky like this in so long, I wanted to stay out there all night but I was so incredibly tired already. This was shot about 10:40 PM...and I wimped out. LOL. I should have just sucked it up.

I am going out to hopefully do some astro next week on vacation and will take a chair with me.

The light coming from the trees on the left tells a story on its own. I really like this composition.

I completely agree...as I walked past them I noticed their fire and then when I found these trees with the MW lining up and setup to get that campfire, it is such a part of the story in the image for me.
