Happy fathers day to all the dads

Some of you may remember that every fathers day I go to the same tree stump at a local national park and take a photo with the kids. Kind of started by accident but aiming to keep it going for years to come now. Heres today's photo

Found a solution to a rather annoying PS issue I was having. Every so often my brush tool would go to a crosshair as opposed to showing the circle of the brush and its size. Couldnt for the life of me work out how to get it back. Well I have now found out that its the precision brush and its toggled on and off with caps lock button. Thought I would share in case anyone else is having the same frustration

That Sigma 100-400mm is very tempting, especially at the price. The preproduction copy reviews AF seemed a bit slow and pulsing but otherwise quite good.

I know it’s meant to be a brand new design but to me I think they would have based it off the DSLR version considering how cheap it is.

The Samyang AF 85mm f/1.4 arrived today. I was a bit worried as so many people online warned me about copy variation but I’m very happy to say it’s well centered, tack sharp wide open and AF is fast and accurate at all distances :D

I am REALLY loving this lens. Might not be possible to see in the image on here but the amount of detail in the portrait is insane and eye AF works perfectly too. One thing I found surprising was that Eye AF works from more extreme angles compared to the 35mm Art when I had it. This lens acts more like a native lens in that regards which is great to see.

Dad's cam from the 80's next to my a7riv

My dad bought this AE-1 just before I was born. The lens is an FD 50 1.8The camera still works. I should grab some film and shoot on it one day.

I know a lot of people wish the a7 cameras were more vintage looking like the Fuji's, but when I put the a7rIV next to my dad's cam, I see more similarities in the design than differences....particularly with the CV40 attached. The a7 bodies definitely look better than the Canikon FF mirrlroess cameras....the Nikon's in particular look really awkward.

I ordered a set of those vintage style 3M skins with the silver accents on ebay. I've use similar type skins on my gaming consoles and they look and feel nice so hopefully these don't suck.

Also...I'm pretty excited about rumors of an entry level, hopefully more compact, FF E-mount camera. Hopefully the rumors are correct.

I bought my first AE-1 in 1982. I recently was able to reacquire it, along with the Kodak Brownie that took most of the pictures of the family from the early 60s on.

I loved that AE-1 and wished I hadnt sold it and lost photography for 30 years of my life.

I’ve got an AE1 sitting on a shelf with some brownies and a Polaroid camera. Never shot with any of them but I like the look of old cameras. The canon still works and also has the 50 1.8 lens. Not sure if the others work or not
