I had an Av-1 for a while. With a 28mm, 50/1.4 & early 85/1.8. Sold it on a couple of years ago & actually turned a profit on it!!

It was just a little heavy for what I wanted it for so switched back to using my Yashica FX3.

Dad's cam from the 80's next to my a7riv

My dad bought this AE-1 just before I was born. The lens is an FD 50 1.8The camera still works. I should grab some film and shoot on it one day.

I know a lot of people wish the a7 cameras were more vintage looking like the Fuji's, but when I put the a7rIV next to my dad's cam, I see more similarities in the design than differences....particularly with the CV40 attached. The a7 bodies definitely look better than the Canikon FF mirrlroess cameras....the Nikon's in particular look really awkward.

I ordered a set of those vintage style 3M skins with the silver accents on ebay. I've use similar type skins on my gaming consoles and they look and feel nice so hopefully these don't suck.

Also...I'm pretty excited about rumors of an entry level, hopefully more compact, FF E-mount camera. Hopefully the rumors are correct.

There is a big following for those FD & FDn legacy lenses, but have no idea how they differ.

I am REALLY loving this lens. Might not be possible to see in the image on here but the amount of detail in the portrait is insane and eye AF works perfectly too. One thing I found surprising was that Eye AF works from more extreme angles compared to the 35mm Art when I had it. This lens acts more like a native lens in that regards which is great to see.

thanks for more confusion, I was set to get the Tamron 70-180, but then I remember that the 85 is also a good alternative and quite a bit lighter...............

You’re welcome :D the 70-180 is heavier but also lighter than most lenses of that FL. I had my eye on the 70-180 as something I might get next year but now I’m more interested in that Sigma 100-400mm!

Thank you its good to have the gardens open. Being that its 110 degrees outside having a place close that I can get to early in the AM with not much effort is nice.

I finally got to try the 200-600 on the A9 and 70-180 on the A7r4. It is a nice combo but the 70-180 is real sensitive on the metering I need to do some more work to confirm. It is sharp not ultimately fast and I do like it, but for wildlife it is just a bit to much of a finesse lens. I think for people it would be great. Macro is non existent so I will need some kind of macro replacement down the road. Range is nice it just doesn't feel like a wildlife / landscape lens..... yet.

By the end of 3 hours the 200-600 was hanging heavy on my neck.

Will try again this weekend with 200-600 A9 and 100-400 A7r4 and see how heavy that is on my neck LOL

I set up a little bird bath in my side yard where I can see it from my home office window, thenI set up a tripod with my A9 and 100-400 aimed at it. I figured it if I noticed any action I could take a pause from work and steal a few shots. I had customers the first day!

Going to ask computer question. I got a logitech MX3 mouse and finally setup to make it work with the work MAC, home windows PC and the work Linux box. I like the new mouse as I can use horizontal scroll wheel to adjust brush size in PS, buttons for undo/redo and press on the scroll wheel to zoom the image. This mouse has integration with PS. I am trying to do same using C1 as C1 uses the same method as PS when you want to move around a zoomed image. Anyone using this mouse?
