Working through images from last weekend's Senior Session. Part of what she needed was a more casual headshot image, they will be on her applications to Theater Departments for college.

Lighting was from the AD400 in the 38" Glow Parapop.

I agree...the Surface really is a nice way to edit, because it operates just like a computer...not a tablet.

Wouldn't any touch based laptop be the same way? Personally I like the surface studio model. But with MS shutting down stores, never know if this product survives. Hardware is very hard business to be in. Unless you are like Apple.

Rather than posting these individually, here's a smattering of pictures from this week (first three with Loxia 21mm, last one with Loxia 35mm):

I like the first one. The cloud, water movement with slower ss gives it a better look.

This is what my Adobe CC looks like. I just don't understand why it's listing two photoshops and two bridges and letting me know that both are up to date. It looks like it's maintaining an older version of each app on my PC, but I'm not sure and it's confusing me. Do I just need to manually uninstall the older versions?

It looks like you have both PS CC 2019 and PS CC 2020 installed like I do. For some reason, PS CC 2019 is v20.xx and PS CC 2020 is v21.xx. I haven't uninstalled PS CC 2019 for fear of somehow messing up the plugins in PS CC 2020.

After jacking around with adobe creative cloud and Lightroom on the iPad for a couple days, I got curious and opened LR for Android on my S20. Turns out LR for Android works exactly the same way it does on PadOS. smart previews synced over and whatever changes I make here sync back to LR classic on my desktop and iPad. Pretty cool.

I had that same fear but ended up doing it and everything in 2020 worked fine.

It is a start, but, if you don't mind some pointers for the next time out...you need to up your ISO, 640 is too low, the sensor is not picking up enough light, especially at f/2.8 and 15 seconds. IMO, start at 1600. Your stars also look a bit out of focus, they are rendering more round and not pinpoint, it looks like the focus is on the foreground foliage since it looks sharp.

Thanks for the pointers. The light pollution kept my ISO low. I should go to a better location. I tried the focus peaking on the stars. I thought i was in focus. Any tips on manual focusing?

Magnify is your friend ;)

You could still over expose in light polluted areas & then drag the sky back down. Probably better than going the other way.

I usually go something like 13-15 seconds, f/1.8, ISO 800-1600 - that's at 21/24mm
