dude...you and your family have one active and awesome lifestyle...it makes me want to make some wholesale changes...my 9 year old is as lazy as the day is long now...and I blame myself for it.

Well we def like to get out there. I brought my kids up on the river And mountains from day one, so they’re kinda hardwired for it. That said, you guys only see the highlight reel! I don’t post pics of them in front of the idiot box! I keep saying The day they prefer computer games or Netflix over surfing, kayaking or skiing is the day I throw the computer and tv away!

I am about to throw the ipad away...I need to get her a new bike, she outgrew the last one...I need to get her riding with me...get her some exercise and get her out of the house and off her butt...I am appreciative of the lifestyle you live...good on you.

Yes, I believe I was zoomed all the way out. Thanks!

How hot has it been at your house lately?

Well, the high temp at my house yesterday was 119.6° and today, the high was 102°. Because of some cloud cover, it's now a balmy 93°. You can check out the weather at my house anytime as I have it linked to "Weather Underground". Here's the link to my KCAHEMET75 Station.

Since I feel like I will burst into flames if I walk outside, I went through my RAWs from my winter trip to the Klamath Basin this past January, which feels like 10 years ago at this point!

120F, unimaginable. Those temps would kill my neighbords on the mountain...the true mountain folk would have heat strokes.

Nothing like the solitude of winter. Up at the cabin where we plan to retire to in winter one can go several weeks without seeing a soul.

Fortunately, it doesn't get like this often and the winters are very mild of course. And thank goodness for air conditioners.

Fires are still burning giving these sci-fi movie kind of sunsets. This is Livermore Valley close to my home. In the back is Mount Diablo.

I would do it sooner than later Travis. Ask me how I know. My son 21 now was glued to his screens, and we left it till too late. At 14 when we visited the psychologist he told us its too late at this stage to take away the screens. :rolleyes:He is still very introvert and not active as he should be for someone his age, but he is doing his uni course and is not into any vices. Small mercies.

My kids have a lot of screen time. But that's their home life and environment they live in. When with me we do try to get out somewhere even if it's a causal walk with the dog! My daughter started college yesterday doing a double sports course so I'm hoping that will get her more in the fitness frame of mind. Not that neither of them are unfit by a long margin, it's more the fitness lifestyle I want them to gain. They both play cricket, my daughter also plays ladies cricket, my boy plays rugby. At 14, he is starting to look pretty good now already!
