Slightly belated, but Merry Christmas to you all here. Hope you managed to celebrate one way or another. I'll share a few pics later :-)

I've also been meaning to share the the lightroom preset I've been working on for ages! I tweaked lots of the colour channels, which I'm just about getting my head round. For me its a really nice starting point for all my pictures, especially colours for skin tones. From here I then tweak WB and Tint to refine the colour. The shadows, highlights, whites, blacks and contrast look like strange settings, but they give a good result, for me anyway! Will try and share the photos I took of the settings. Hoping it helps anyone that might be struggling with 'Sony colours'!

Forgot to say, I shoot most pics using AV and -0.3 or 0.7 EV, hence raising the exposure by 1.0 on the preset.

That is for 'every' image yeah? As a starting point.

I do have presets I use in that way but I always have to tweak them for skin & also the colour of the Escort funnily enough!

PS - What did you do today.......??!? There was SNOW on the Mendip Hills!!

Rolling through Yountville I came across this version of fine dining...outdoor pandemic style.

Just a suggestion, instead of using the color profile "Adobe Color", have you tried using "Camera Standard"? While not always the best option, I find that for most of my images, Camera Standard looks more natural in terms of color than Adobe Color.

I have "Camera Standard" set as my default profile and only change it on rare occasions now.

Another beauty Lee. I'm curious, about how high was your camera when you took this shot? Eye level? Waist high?

Beautiful expression!

Our Brit Casey passed away early Christmas morning. He spent almost 15 years with us so it has been a very sad Christmas for our family this year, we are missing him dearly.

Exactly. And yeah, whilst thats a good starting point, I still spend ages faffing with colours in post. My two kids have different skin colours. You wouldn't really notice it in real life, but the camera seems to exaggerate it. I find it strange that when I started out with photography, I was obsessed with sharpness! Once I got that sorted it was then dynamic range, and finally colour. Ironically probably the hardest to master!

For the exposure compensation, I leave the camera in AV and underexposed as a default, as I know it protects majority of highlights. I do adjust it regularly but if I forget I know I'm fairly safe. The advantage of the awesome sensor!!

Apart from a tip run with all the excess cardboard, we all stayed in today. Getting tired of having to be outside all the time to see anyone! Restrictions were a lot easier in the summer! We had sleet here. My boy (5) nearly burst when he thought we were going to have snow!!
