Just a suggestion, instead of using the color profile "Adobe Color", have you tried using "Camera Standard"? While not always the best option, I find that for most of my images, Camera Standard looks more natural in terms of color than Adobe Color.

I have "Camera Standard" set as my default profile and only change it on rare occasions now.

Thanks Gene, will give it a try.

Exactly. And yeah, whilst thats a good starting point, I still spend ages faffing with colours in post. My two kids have different skin colours. You wouldn't really notice it in real life, but the camera seems to exaggerate it. I find it strange that when I started out with photography, I was obsessed with sharpness! Once I got that sorted it was then dynamic range, and finally colour. Ironically probably the hardest to master!

For the exposure compensation, I leave the camera in AV and underexposed as a default, as I know it protects majority of highlights. I do adjust it regularly but if I forget I know I'm fairly safe. The advantage of the awesome sensor!!

Apart from a tip run with all the excess cardboard, we all stayed in today. Getting tired of having to be outside all the time to see anyone! Restrictions were a lot easier in the summer! We had sleet here. My boy (5) nearly burst when he thought we were going to have snow!!

What area of Bristol are you in? I'm on the south side!

Yeah, I normally shoot manual so exposure compensation isn't something I often use anymore. I seem to get on fine following the histogram.

Colours is something I've been working on this year too. Can be quite complex at times. And also trying to get my lenses to give a similar look too.

I shoot mostly portraits, over-exposure is the key for me. I never underexpose and then try to lift in pp. I don't care for highlights in bg. There is enough head room to bring them down if needed. Maybe it is my style but it makes pp much easier as I am not good in it. I shoot almost everything in manual mode. And with CaptureOne getting skin tones is much easier than LR.

It's been a cold and rainy Southern California day today (46° for a high). There was a brief interlude of sunshine and I managed to capture this double rainbow. I don't think I've seen one this bright before. A small part of the rainbow, as well as part of the palm tree, can also be seen in a puddle in the street close to my position.

Beautiful expression!

Our Brit Casey passed away early Christmas morning. He spent almost 15 years with us so it has been a very sad Christmas for our family this year, we are missing him dearly.

i like it, song and video .. the way it was shot definetly goes with the song, ..thanks for sharing.

yes i do the editing and compiling as well...
my son helps with the editing and culling though i ususally cut up the foundation for the video , while i'm not totally out of whats "in" these days as far as video and music goes i wont pretend to be as aware of the very latest as my son who is 22 and is very into music , especially underground scene , so i definitley take his word heavily into consideration for this , as well as the directing. . he's always sending videos of the latest trends before they go main stream,

---------------

Below is the music video i shot very recently, (images that i shared a few days ago).. 95% footage was from the a7siii, my fuji xt4 was used as a b cam though we ended up using very little of the footage,, and at the very end there is some footage shot with a vhs camera as well.

nothing was under iso 12,800 and maxed at 25,xxx.., i think i may be a hair under exposed in most shots, and only available lighting, which was mixed..i think image quality is clean considering all that..
i still need to get the a7s's custom buttons set up properly, for quicker changes and no menu diving.. though i admit its better now with the revised menu that sony gave us.

Really happy with the a7siii and i can imagine i;ll be happier once i have it all configured to my liking and have learned it all like the back of my hand.

**Warning.. probably not work safe due to language.

Phenomenal work Randal. Legit good. Captured the street block party feel well...OG 90's style. Reminds me the old bone thugz and harmony videos lol

North Bristol, Downend. When restrictions lift properly, would be good to meet up sometime. :-)

Thats a beauty Gene! I've never seen a rainbow that colourful either! Is that your house? Asking as I can see a name on the kerb, or is that an added in post?

Here is an image I took back in the summer, a month or so after our first lockdown.
Durdle Door, is in Devon and on the south coast of the UK. It is about 1.5 hour drive for me, left about 11.30pm, got back about 4am.
Super chuffed I made the effort. Couldn't have timed it any better. The moon was just above the horizon behind me which put some light on the famous arch.
This is 10 images blended using starry landscape stacker, to allow the noise to be reduced etc.
My best Milky Way image by far, and possibly my best photo ever!
Don't really want to put it on Flickr, as I don't want people to be able to use it, and I'm hoping it might have a chance in a competition at some point.
Hope it still looks decent here, and hope you like it. :-D
