This might not be the most involved sophisticated fix, but a real easy one is to:

1. With the eyedropper tool sample a good area of her skin.
2. Create a new layer and set the blending mode to “color”.
3. Paint over the affected areas of discolored skin with the previously sampled good skin color.

The downside to this simplistic colorization is its too monochromatic for perfect realism, but in your case the affected area is pretty small relative to the whole frame so it might be effective here.

It would be best to sample/recolor the lit skin areas and the shadow areas separately because the color (hue) of things change when in shadow.

Create a layer with just the leg with the color cast.

Use the color selection tool (external link) to select the blue portions of her leg.

With the blue part selected, hit open in camera raw.

Tweak the white balance and the hue sliders to shift the tones so that they match her true skin tone.

It will probably take multiple selections of different gradients of blue to get it right...and you will probably need to run each selection through camera raw a couple times as the tones shift closer to what you want. Basically shifting it from being mapped to blue to orange channel in multiple iterations till you can get it where you need it. It's pretty onerous but worth the trouble for this image IMO

Well, I made Flickr explore six times in a row. Not sure what it means but maybe Flickr is coming back? I’ve taken a long break from Instagram and probably won’t return for many reasons.

Flickr has been hit or miss...I made EXPLORED again yesterday with one I would not have expected...I just like the higher quality of the presentation there. They do seem to have fixed a few issues. IG...I dunno...it is such an advertisement...

My next client next week...has over 3k followers...she is 3. I can't even maintain...keep losing.

IG is pretty much a game....shoot the right subject matter, use the right hashtags, and engage with as many people as you can because a certain number will reciprocate. Mine was pretty active back in the days I did a lot of the cosplay/disney stuff, and doing collabs with cosplayers and these online seamstresses that would send stuff for my daughter to be photographed wearing.

Shooting that type of content and posting with the accompanying tags drove a lot of engagement....plus a lot of the people I worked with have a large following as they are pretty big cosplayers and/or are active in the local acting community....many had their 15 minutes of fame doing charitable work after harvey, or visiting children's hospitals and stuff (they like the publicity). Those seamstresses have a huge following too. I'd get tagged in all of my photos they posted and it just built up.

But its all just mindless engagement after a while. Playing that game can influence how/why you shoot in the wrong ways as you're working to game the algorithms.

I purged my IG about a year ago, and about a month ago took the app off my phone. Maybe I'll get more active on it once photography business picks up, but it will be purely a marketing tool.

Flickr explore can be a bit of a game too and its definitely biased towards very specific genres of photography. Less now for better or worse. I've had two hit explore....both were landscapes that started trending from forum posts. IG is definitely biased towards portraiture as its a people centric platform.

Yeah I kinda hate games and needing to play a system...I spent some time updating my crappy website this weekend...I refuse to make my iG feed what people need to look at to see my work.

I assume it’s the same in the states too but here people create IG home accounts when they move into a new home and then post photos of the rooms before and after while decorating etc. When I realised some of the people I know with them had 3-4 times the followers as my photography IG account I gave up :)

Edit - my cousin has an IG page for his 2.5 year old daughter. They dress her up like celebs and copying photos of current fashion stuff and she has 11k followers. It’s absolutely nuts (PS I don’t approve!)

IG has basically become narcistic platform. It's less about the quality of the photographs and more about people "flexing" something. People flexing their homes, their cars, their vacations, their bodies, their kids....Not a healthy way to live IMO.

There is a great black mirror episode on this lol

My mental health has been better since I got off IG that’s for sure. Good comments from everyone on social media.

Lately I have been bookmarking some of my favorite photographers’ websites. Nothing beats seeing someone’s best work at high resolution. Reminds me that I want to check out your updated site Travis.

No FB here. Have an IG account but that was only due to sharing some shots with the models. Got a day job that pays well, photography is hobby to relax. Don't need more problems with FB, IG and what other cra_ like that which is out there. Sorry for being harsh. And for me TV is the same, haven't watched anything for yrs besides some movie with the kids.

Lol I agree with IG/FB for photo-sharing, certainly that's too much stress for me as well, just sharing photos with models after shoots is difficult enough as it is. So far the only thing that I have the stomach for is applying for competitions I know I don't have a snowflake's chance in hell to win (though I do try to get reviews that I never really end up reading).

Ironically, I also get reasonably good comments, but the relative absence of likes just gets me down nonetheless, and I start having trouble believing the comments. Needless to say, not a good situation for the good ol' sanity.

As for the TV, I'm off to watch the worst "sci-fi"/fantasy movie of 2019 ;)
