I have a similar one with that screwdriver thing that sticks to the underside by magnets, and it didn't take much time at all for that screwdriver to be lost! Thankfully there was a spare in the package, but it doesn't give me much hope that I'll be hanging on to it for very long if I lost the first one that quickly.

I had another L Bracket (from Neewer) for my (now returned) X-T200, this one was toolless, much preferable.

:) I did wonder if it would be lost pretty quickly

This is incredibly great Carlo. The light is amazing, but your composition absolutely knocks it out of the park. One of the very best images I’ve seen all year.

Wow very kins of you David.

I have to admit that there was a lot of luck with the composition. As you can imagine, getting 2 ponies and a toddler to cooperate for a photo was tough. Her mom was a bit ambitious and social media makes these things look easier to pull off than it seems.

It all came together during the peak of the golden hour for that shot. A lot of luck with the position of the sun and the horse. Wish I would have gotten a better expression from the little girl, but this one of the few where she is not crying :-).

The trashed shots are hilarious though.

The parents would likely love the “outtake” shots too in years to come I imagine. I was recently looking back through my catalogue at some shots of Callum when he was younger that I set up and staged. It was funny seeing the bad shots either side of the keeper shot when I looked back as he was crying either side etc. Not sure if that’s not the done thing when it’s a paid client though, you might not want to pass such shots over I guess

I had that happen once about a year after I had photographed a friend's young children. The parents called and asked if I still had some of the "other" shots. I didn't print those, but gave them the jpegs. It wasn't a paid gig.

I have to say Utah was amazing. The landscape diversity is like a dream. Canyons, mountains, desert, hoodoos, geological riches, some forest, and many more. I touched just the tip of the iceberg on my recent trip with my family. These are the places we visited in 7 days not including Colorado National Monument.

Arches NP
Canyonlands NP
Dead Horse Point State Park (overnight camping stay)
Capitol Reef
Edge of Escalante National Monument along one of the most scenic drives in the US along UT-12
Bryce Canyon NP
Zion National Park

Loved them all but I have to say Zion was surreal. Arches and Canyonlands are right up there too. I did take some “snapshots” with my a7RII and will be sharing some images soon. Oh, renting a camper van made the adventure even more fun. I will treasure the good memories from the trip with my family. Having spent many hours together on the adventure means more than any portfolio worthy shot in my mind.

I think I am the only one that doesnt like Zion. I think it is amazing dont get me wrong but it is so packed like Disneyland and not easy to shoot with shadows etc fun to drive thru but give me an extra day on any of the other places on your list

Yeah I know what you mean about the crowds. Too many people. But from a sheer initial impressions standpoint, Zion is hard to beat. The drive through the east side through the one way tunnel through the mountain and then winding down to the visitor’s center was memorable. Agree that it’s not an easy place to shoot. Canyonlands gets my vote for better landscape photography opportunities. Loved it there.

Need to do something like this with my family. Even if I can't hikes etc, just seeing the beauty out there from the road will be great. Living in CA, one thing I would miss anywhere else would be the ocean as well as the nice weather.

Bobby, you should go for it. We couldn’t do much hiking in the national parks because we had our two doxies but we still enjoyed driving through the parks. The overlooks still offer awesome views and photography opportunities.

It’s funny, I always think if I lived in the States I’d always be at all the amazing national parks for the photo opportunities but then I remember people travel from all over the world to photograph places in Scotland that I can’t be bothered driving to :)

Scotland is a relatively tiny place. :) The traveling distances to all the cool places in the US are just so incredibly far. When we lived in Kansas City, which is near the geographical center of the US, we traveled to Glacier National Park (Montana) a few times and that was 24+ hour drive time each way. But, now we live an additional 16-hour drive southeast from KC and I wonder if we’ll ever take another roadtrip out West again.

Since moving here all our trips have been limited to the Southeast US regional states, and while this region has some nice places to see they’re absolutely nothing compared to the stunning grandeur of the places way out west.

That’s unreal. I can travel from my house to the England border south in just over an hour and I can get from my house to the north coast in 5 hours. The distances in Canada and America are astounding

I could drive across Europe in less time than that. This is helped by the speed on the German autobahn. ;-)a
