I thought I'd try one of my hummer shots from the a9 using 'super enhance' too. ![]() Very nice, Gene. I'll try this on some but it is a bit time consuming and disrupts the normal flow. (2 edits in all) | Apr 05, 2021 10:22 | #47298 Hi all, one more from the 35mm from yesterday's walk. I haven't taken it off the camera since I got it! In England we've recently been allowed to have another family join us in our own gardens, so we've had a few socials last week! We had a walk with good friends on Good Friday, and then came back to ours till fairly late, with a few drinks along the way! The A7iii and the 35mm 1.4 are an amazing combo, carried on shooting after dark, with reasonably good photos from very little light. Whilst technology can often be really annoying, sometimes it can also be bloody brilliant! IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/2kRf8gTJon

Between your Sigma 35/1.2 and 35/2 you’ve got a fantastic couple of 35mm options, each with beautiful rendering, to suit any need.Carlo, agree with David. You help make those small Sigma lenses look amazing. Jon

Apr 05, 2021 14:52 | #47303 Well, finally had a chance to get out a bit today, the weather was sunny and comfortable for a change. Went to the Toronto waterfront to shoot some of the local birds with the Sony A1 and 200-600, I was curious to see if I experienced the same EV nbackout issues that some have been experiencing and I'm happy to report that I didn't. Here are a couple of local species. IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/2kRmyMd Sony A1, A7R2

For the third time I cancelled an a1 preorder. I used the EVF concern as my pretense, but there has been a much larger concern weighing on me. I’m concerned that the $6500 camera may not serve all my wants and needs. So, after much deliberation here is my updated plan: I’m going to buy two extremely different cameras: 1. an a7S III, 2. and, when it is released, an a7R V. Rationale below: David | Flickr

I actually purposely shot quite a bit with the Sun on my back and I couldn't get it to do it, I guess I should be happy about that Sony A1, A7R2

I’m concerned that the $6500 camera may not serve all my wants and needs. So, after much deliberation here is my updated plan: I’m going to buy two extremely different cameras: 1. an a7S III, 2. and, when it is released, an a7R V. Rationale below: Why a7S III? Two years ago I bought this fantastic iPad Pro largely because I wanted to experience a new way of enjoying photography. I’m still committed to that goal. Although LR (and definitely PS) is somewhat limited on the iPad Pro, I do enjoy processing photos on it. It’s a lot more fun lounging on the porch processing photos with nothing but my iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil than sitting at a desk in front of a monitor. The kinds of photos I like processing on the iPad are exactly the same kinds of photos that I’ll be shooting with the a7S III. And a 12MP camera is a perfect match for this fluid cloud-based workflow. I want to shoot a lot more prolifically and more carefree...12MP captures won’t hold me back mentally. Make no mistake: I’m buying an a7S III purely as a tool for fun. There are specific features I love about the a7S III (besides 12MP): the magnificent EVF, new Sony menus, and the flippy touch screen are are three big reasons I’m excited about the a7S III. The a9 II is also a very strong consideration: I have a use case for a silent 20 fps with zero blackout. But, I’m prioritizing the a7S III’s resolution, EVF, and flippy screen over the a9 II’s special abilities. Why a7R V (or why not a7R IV)? High resolution will always be very important to me. Eventually I will want to replace my a7R II with a newer a7R model, but I want it to share the same menu system and (hopefully) EVF and flippy screen in common with the a7S III. Also I hope the a7R V will be a better performer with the FE 200-600mm G and have an improved AF system. Hope all that makes sense. I’ve not loaded an a7S III into my shopping cart yet, so if you want to pop my ballooon and talk me out of buying the best-suited camera for my iPad Pro photography workflow, then go for it! ![]() Sounds like a decent plan David. I’m very new to the 2 body scene (honestly couldn’t understand the point previously) but since doing it myself I wish I had done it sooner! All the benefits of prime lenses with the versatility of a zoom (kind of) since I don’t need to switch lenses as much. I’m also a fan of the different body idea. For me it’s a9ii for af and a7riii for resolution. Probably down the line my a7riii will become an a7riv to improve the af slightly or even an a7IV if the resolution is 30+. But happy with what I have in the mean time. I think a7siii and a7rV would be a great combo (assuming the a7rV will be another step up from a7riv) Leica M11 | Leica Q2 | Sony α7RV
