Had summer-like temperatures yesterday, went for a 5-hour hike in Gatineau Park... I was amazed that there was still snow/ice in parts of it, but most of the Park was comfortably dry. Will lots of leftover leaves, still kinda looked like late autumn in some places as well

I really need to find more interesting streams than that for long exposures... Tried to focus stack one in Affinity Photo but for some reason the program just crashes and won't play ball.

Guys, I recently updated my website. I now have a mobile specific site which displays vertical images on the homepage vs horizontal oriented images on desktop or smart tablet. I added a New Releases page and created landing pages for my landscapes and architecture work. Need to do the same for my Commissions work.

I would love it if you tried accessing it from your phone and desktop/tablet. Thanks!

Alfredo, I’m at CVS having just received my first vaccine shot and it’s the perfect time to check out your site on my phone. Awesome man...just looks so great!! Your work is an inspiration.

Here's the self-portrait I've decided to use to go with the six generations of my line dating back to 1794.

And the final project. These are all printed and framed now, two portraits per frame.

Hmm, it's possible I used a mask that included a color layer. I"ll have to check that out. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

EDIT: That was it, a layer mask that exposed some color. Now fixed. Thanks again Baan.

Huge thanks David! I’m humbled by your comments. One goal I have this year is to shoot more small scenes. More minimal and abstract. It keeps me motivated to get out there to shoot.

Best of luck with your vaccine. I work for Lockheed Martin and am waiting for the vaccine to be available to us.

Alfredo, my apologies but I've been wrapped up in finishing my self-portrait prject. I finally had the time to take a look at your website via my Galaxy S10e and it looks magnificent, just as it does on my 4k desktop monitor. Have you considered displaying any of your work at local Galleries as well as online?

Oh, I got my 2nd Medierna vaccination on the 25th of March. I'm glad they are finally able to offer vaccinations to younger people now.

Many thanks Gene! Wonderful to hear it.

That’s a classy portrait of you. Very nice detail.

Glad to hear you received your vaccine.

I can't imagine how high these canyons are. The size of this place was insane. Again, super lucky with the light after a stormy afternoon. This will likely be my last shot from Canyonlands that I will share.

I'm legit 90% off rear lcd. Travis has seen me shoot.

It's not anything I specifically set out to do...probably just a habit I picked up shooting my kids all the time. They're not at my eye level, so if want to quickly snap something and not miss it, good rear lcd shooting form is good to develop. It's just faster overall for me.

It's helpful for posed portraiture too. Easier to give direction when your face is not buried behind the camera, and yes helpful for seeing what is outside the frame to help with composition.

YMMV though! No right or wrong way to shoot so long as you get the results!

And I am probably 85% EVF...especially doing portraits and stuff like that. I just can't quite get the feel for framing with the LCD view...and I can't be as steady, which for me results in blurry photos.

I took the family to the mountains this past weekend for Spring break, trying to get away...but a leg injury meant no hiking. We did get to drive around some of my favorite places, but it just wasn't a photo trip. I still managed a few. The Trillium were in full bloom, something I am usually not there early enough to see.

Good to see the trilliums out already. Still a bit early over here likely only in a couple more weeks. We do have BloodRoot already blooming though.

yep - they keep trying to decommission them but they are so tough and unique and suited for tight ground fights that they cant. These two were based in Tucson I think there are 2 more A10 bases in addition
