Buy a PC...and with the money you saved...buy a new lens. The MicroCenter machine I bought was $1500...a comparable Dell was over $4k and a MAC was over $5k...
I edit 4k video without proxies...no problem.

But I bet it suffers when it comes to video. I have an AMD Ryzen 12 Core, 64 GB memory and an 8 GB GPU, It also came with a 2TB M.2 hard drive...and is fully upgradable and expandable. For less. Apple are cool products, I get it, I shelled out for my wife to have a MacBook AIR for Christmas...she loves it...but you are stuck with what you get, good luck fixing anything or upgrading anything. (I use both), but just on the video comment, you would be surprised. My 2018 iPad Pro with A12X Bionic handles everything I throw at it (up to 4K) no problem and these M1 chips are a step ahead again. It wasn’t available when I built my editing pc though so now I edit photos on my i9 intel and edit video on my iPad Pro
