We made a trip to Home Depot today to get some clothesline. :-P Thank goodness the Washer seems fine, because I hate having to go to a Laundromat.

You might consider one of these too David...just in case. ;-)a

Both of you need to revisit the POTN rules of “don’t be a jerk.” :p :p :p

Seriously, I sincerely love and appreciate the laughs. :) I just hope we get the Insurance Adjuster out here before it gets hot…going to need that AC soon.

I hope everything goes smoothly with your insurance company and they cover the damages you suffered through an act of God.

I know what you mean about air conditioning too. We don't get the humidity here but we certainly get the heat. It's hard for me to realize sometimes that when I grew up, we had no air conditioning, yet we all survived. I can remember many a summer sitting on the front porch late into the night trying to catch a breeze.

I finally got motivated enough to work on my Kodak Vigilant Six-16 camera today. I managed to get the rear element of the lens off so I could clean the back of the 2nd element with the shutter open and then I removed the front element focusing lens to get to the front of the 2nd element and clean it too.

At that point, I decided I needed to run a roll of film through the camera to see what other issues I may have. I took a few shots around the house and then developed them. In my eagerness to do this, I used the only developer on hand, a year-old bottle of Cinestill DF96. I was pleasantly surprised to see images appear on the negative film as I pulled it from my Lab-Box.

I was super pleased to see there are no light leaks in the bellows and the lens seems clear. I'm going to want more focus setting tests and I could tell that most of my exposures were over-exposed. I'm not sure whether that is due to my camera settings or the old chemicals I used. I'll be ordering more chemicals asap to remove one more possible error from the equation. Then, anything else will be operator error.

Here is one of my test images and I am very optimistic so far. I plan on masking this camera to shoot 17 x 6 aspect ratio and I also want to try developing my own color negatives as well. I'm tempted to even shoot color-positive film.

Thanks. It will take a while for me to figure out what I see in the viewfinder vs what will be on the negative. I was standing across the street and surprised the view wasn't wider. I should have realized that since the lens is 127mm.

This is the last shot on the test roll. My neighbor taking a break from gardening. I cropped it to 4 x 6 ratio to eliminate a large portion of the image above his head.

You have much more interest & patience in this area than I have. I just couldn't do that...... But I do like 'seeing' you do it :)

I guess I enjoy the process as much as the final result. It's a challenge for me to see if I can 'make it work'. Once I do that, the trick is for me to stay interested.

thanks. it's nice to use being light weight :)

5 more days!! I think. I never preordered a lens before. when they say its out march 13, are the shops shipping them out on that day? adorama shows that it's when the manufacture ships the item out. amazon shows 'shipping march 13' but I got a notice on my preorder saying it wont ship till late may-end of June. so... i'm kinda freaking out lol hoping to get it sometime last week of the month. going on a trip and I'd like to have it. 35 and 85gm will do the job but itll be nice to have the 50 too.

i need to calm down on the purchases. checked my bank account recently and freaked out haha
a7c (/II) maybe next :P

I seriously considered the 50GM, but when I compared the Sony 50 GM to my FE 55 f/1.8 and my recently sold Canon EF 50 f/1.2L. The GM is ½ pound heavier and 1 inch longer than the 50L. The FE 55 is 1/3 the weigh and smaller in size and has served me well. As much as I would like to have a native E 50mm f/1.2 lens, the weight, size and the $2k price make it a hard pass for me.

On the other hand, I have surplus funds remaining from my Canon lens sales.

The 14GM is tempting, but I’ll wait and see how Lee does with the 20G.

Tim

I've not taken it out of the house yet. But I'm already putting the CV21 3.5E and Samyang 24/1.4 up for sale.
