A candid shot at my neighbor's the other day. I was using the waist finder on the Kodak and didn't compensate enough for the lens being on a different plane. I liked the photo anyway.

This was shot at f11 not f1. I didn't notice I neglected a "1" when I filled in the exif info.

I remember when you sold that lens, I was surprised you were going through with it. I kept mine simply because it was the best 50 I had/have but that might change now.

Quick grab at f1.2 from the GM, bo sharpening applied at all.

nice subject hehe. they are the better looking packaging. the only one that beats it is the limited collectors with the book like faux leather covers that costed $$$$. I had it but returned it, couldnt justify the cost.

I thought he was centered in the finder but as the photo shows, he was at the right edge. We were about 7 feet apart so that would emphasize the difference I think. I also used my Minolta spot meter for this shot. I took a reading from his shirt and another on the dark outdoor carpet and then had the meter average the two readings for me. The spot meter would be used more for landscape photography rather than people as it's a bit cumbersome.

Very nice color bro. Being a Filipino myself, I can tell that the color is true to life :). I don't know if it's the camera's color science, the lens or both. or your color grading. I have a little GAS with the A7C now. It seems perfect for RE too. I'm using an ipad mini to control my cam when i shoot RE so the small EVF does not matter to me.

Now that lockdown is easing I can finally target some photo orientated trips. Heading to Skye for 4 days in 2 weeks time. Want to target the fairy pools and the Old Mann of Storr (amongst other things) as I’ve never actually visited them on previous trips there.

Now to start planning the loadout :-P

I'm hoping a7c2 will have a bigger evf. i do want it now though eheh. playing with non native lens atm and I wish adapter manufacturer would make a FE to dslr and other mirrorless adapter so I can mount the sony lenses onto the dslr :P

I really like the colors coming out of the a7s3/new current bodies, they are more accurate. below is sooc and resized down. no need to do any other post on this one pic.

Another shot I was testing my Minolta spot meter on. I metered the brightest and darkest areas and entered that into the meter's memory. Then I had the meter average the exposure. This was taken at f4.5 and 1 second on a tripod.

My thoughts exactly, super curious about that comparison but I need to find the time to do it. As excellent as the Otus is I was looking for an auto focus solution, I' getting older and holding the Otus steady when manual focusing is getting more and more challenging for me. I can tell you that from a weight perspective it's night and day:-)

Based on some quick shots, I can tell you that this lens is super sharp wide open at f1.2 no issues with sharpness for sure, so that characteristic is very similar to the Otus.

having an otus was a dream of mine :P I just couldnt do the price and the manual focussing. the sony zeiss 55 1.8 is what I could afford and it is one heck of a little lens that can do af and give a good seperaition and bokeh. it's what had been lifting off my want for the otus. time's have changed and I am trying out manual focus. I settled getting a leica 50 summilux because the images I've seen had blown me away and I had always thought about it for the longest time. it won't be as sharp as the 50gm, but the overall look of the images looks dreamy. I may consider getting an otus 85 far in the future hhehe. let's see how this manual thing goes for me.

It definitely helps to have this camera on a tripod where I can take my time as opposed to a handheld snapshot. Hopefully, with practice, I can get even casual snapshots correctly aimed, focused, and exposed. :-)
