Trying to take a 'selfie' with my Kodak Vigilant. Unfortunately, my autoknips mechanical timer at the end of a cable release didn't travel far enough to trigger the shutter. So, I bribed my neighbor with a beer to come over and push the shutter button for me. :)

I added a black border in post for this one.

Great image Lee. An image that grounds you to the foreground tree but at
the same times draws you into the distance with the intrigue of the clouds and light.

Vinz I was watching reviews of the A7C last night haha!

But can it do BIF? My alpha will need a backup. Maybe the A7 iii is a better choice for me?

Memories! I last used Tri-X in the 70's. Had to shoot a play and no flash allowed/very dark venue. But maybe not a pleasant memory....film is hard work.

Good job I didn't flip it horizontal in PP then ;)

Thanks :)

I'm not really a wildlife/bird person but the colours & detail in that is beautiful :) Great timing too.

Thanks Robert. I weighed 160.8 lbs as of yesterday. I've gone from wearing XL T-shirts to M and it feels great! (I was wearing a Large in that 'skinny' shot. )

No daugs in my future but I am enjoying my journey back to my beginnings in photography shooting and developing film. It's all the sweeter without the need for an actual darkroom with safelight, enlarger, and developing trays. Once I feel confident my camera has no serious issues such as light leaks and my negative developing is consistent and problem free doing black and white, then I'll attempt color negatives. I may even get bold enough to try color positives.

A shot of the barn at Hemet Stock Farm. This is straight from the camera other than adding a border and resizing. The lens of this camera seems to be very sharp.

Others might quickly do sky swaps on these, but I took it as a challenge to make completely clear skies work...I think it supports the minimalist intentions of the image. Fun spent chasing lone oak trees in the California hillsides.

Gnarly oaks on rolling hills are always fun. Today would have been a good day for that kind of minimalism with the fog and marine layer hovering at about 300-400 feet.

From what I am told, these trees are too far north and inland where it was 25 degrees warmer than the Bay area. As a result they rarely see the marine layer. But that was a hope...as slim as it was.

Nice. Black and white lends itself to the 'emptiness of this scene.

Speaking of black and white, I tried the "colorize" feature in the Neural Filters section. With a little tweaking, I don't think it came out too bad.
