For landscape, I wish you could select just a double bracket - foreground & sky!

Does the a7 not have auto bracket drive mode? I have the mode and just forget to use it

Yes. I have used it a little lately because I haven't been out with filters! Always seem to throw one exposure away though :-D

and yet it still blows any Canon up to the 5DMKIV out of the water...if it really is the worst, then I am impressed, because I am always impressed by it...can't even imagine having more to work with.

Canon’s R5 has finally caught up to Sony on DR: https://www.dxomark.com …-Canon-EOS-R5___1326_1355 (external link)

The a7R II DR is 13.8 stops and the a9 is 13.3 stops. Like you said, that’s better than any Canon 5D camera, but also significantly worse than the current a7R body. All I’m saying is you’ve got a substantially nice upgrade to enjoy at some point. :)

I'm not familiar with the Sony a5xxx body form that is mentioned. What is it?

Interesting Travis, so do you do that for every landscape tripod shot? Or just when you feel the dynamic range demands it? Always keen to hear how others go about things

I think it comes down to knowing your camera's capabilities and variable situation's at hand.

As an example water flow, you may want to also focus stack your shot to get different flow of water, is the light harsh is it to dim. I think you get the point. Lots of variables involved in taking the shot. Typical peak sunrise or sunset I like to bracket, Before & after glow all depends on how the light is.

I watched a bunch of Gavin Hardcastle's tuts, and he does all sorts of things. Goes back to the situation at hand. I actually enjoy his video's for his silliness, more so than photography. Doesn't take things to serious, and gets the job done. Actually his film making skills are up there.

Oooh improvement. I wonder if canon still have issues with the banding. Low dr and banding was a turn off for me and caused me to jump ship.

DT I'll be honest with you. I've never worked so hard. I've averaged 10-12 hours a day post retirement. I'll post an image in a bit as an example (of work and A1 DR).
Yeah I missed being here but promised myself I'd get the crops in first ;)

Time for a beer!! :p really good dr. And looks like a very comfy room to lounge. That picture posted is the house you sold? Or new? Sorry I'm behind in the info

Te Arai point an hour and a half north of Auckland. Always a great spot for astro and sunrises.

This is a 10 shot stack, stacked in Sequator and finished in De noise. Some nice bioluminence going on at the moment.
