We spent an evening in downtown Opelika, Alabama. The city of Opelika (pop. 30,000±) neighbors the more well-known city of Auburn, Alabama.

Everything here taken with the a7S III + Sigma 14-24mm DG DN | Art and edited in LR Mobile on a 2018 iPad Pro:

SAR really is a nonsense, I need to try and stop myself going there so much.

Latest rumours from “trusted sources” was that the next body was a “high end apsc” then further rumours claiming it was similar body shape to a7c and would be called a5xxx. Then he claimed he actually seen the camera. And now he is saying it’s not high end and is not a5xxx but a new naming structure. How can he have seen it and not seen that??

I’ll stick to nokishita

All beautifully composed David and you have a mighty steady hand to shoot all but one of them at 1/25th.

Thank you Gene! I hadn’t paid any attention to my shutter speed…looks like I had my auto-ISO min. SS set to 1/25. That works ok for a 14-24mm lens and with the camera’s IBIS engaged. :)

Excellent shots David. Always enjoy your editing. So did you pull the trigger on the 12-24GM lens? I forgot about that lens. Looks pretty great.

Thank you Alfredo! I pushed my iPad Pro and LR Mobile super hard with some of these edits. Turns out that loads of locally masked edits can bring the LR Mobile on my 2018 iPad Pro to a painfully slow crawl; even with these tiny little 12MP a7S III files. I could really use that new 2021 m1 iPad Pro. :p

Anyway, it’s creative fun to push my limits in utilizing a LR Mobile iPad Pro editing workflow.

I haven’t bought a 12-24GM quite yet, but I will! :) First I’d like to get Sigma 14-24mm and 12-24G sold.

Nice shot Lee, unusual to see a rapeseed field photo with a looming grey sky above it!

I went out for a wander tonight. On my way back I spotted this fairly close to my house. Thought I'd give it a go despite fading light. So returned maybe 10 mins later with the 85mm. Quite pleased with the result. So to give a feel for how dark it was, I couldn't manually focus, F1.8 and a 4 second shutter. And not even a hint of noise at ISO 200, these sensors are bonkers!! :-)

Speaking of retirement...after 7 days and 3,200 miles across 14 states with two cars and two cats who don't enjoy traveling, I landed at my new home in Maine yesterday :-). Had coffee and a breakfast sandwich at Pemaquid Point this morning, about 20 minutes from my new home. My "new" home is over 200 years old, so I have plenty to keep me busy for years, but I also look forward to dabbling in Astro now that I live in an area with low light pollution. Just a phone pic for now as my POD doesn't arrive for a couple of weeks with all my computer gear. Great to see you back Robert!
