The client out in SF is looking to add video to multiple places in their platform, one of them is video shorts for IG. Their research shows that none of the competitors in their market does any video, it is a bigger market feature, and they really want to step up to that level...so in comes me and my rookie video editing. I would appreciate and embrace any crits yall would have. If you are not familiar with it, IG limits a video to 60 seconds. Thus...it is short. And that made it a real challenge!

in Instagram, there's an icon that says IGTV, you can upload videos from a minute to 60minutes and up to 3.5GB file size.

here's one that i posted;

Also, there are video editors from Vietnam or India doing video editing services. they charge like 30-40bucks. you might wanna consider that if you start to shoot more video.

Questions:
How are you liking the rs2? I like that you’re getting nice results with not much experience with it so far. Are you using or planning to use a tripod or monopod with a fluid head? I’m likely still many weeks out from seriously getting started in video, but I’m making lots of mental notes in the lead up.

Comments:
Looks real nice. :) Music choice makes me happy and seems perfect. I want to see more of that gorgeous backyard space and I want to cut out the bokeh grass segment to do so.

Don’t love the music choice, but otherwise this is super polished work Vinz. What gear are you using for your motion shots? I mean gimbal, sliders, fluid heads, etc.

I really like the RS2. This clip is a mix of the RS2 and the Syrp Slider. I am still learning to use the gimbal. Premiere has a really good stabilization that helps smooth it out even more. That grass clip is one of the favorites from the client...he loves that stuff so it is likely to stay.
I really want to make it longer...I shot 45 clips...I didn't even get to use much!

Vinz is doing RE work and Travis is doing Architectural work. Both types are very similar in some respects, but very very different in others (RE is about property sales while Architectural is about securing design commissions). I’d never outsource architectural work. Mainly because architectural work really should be about craft and I can’t craft if I’m letting someone else do it.

I can't agree more. Knowing the client is critical in portfolio work IMO. And this is a first draft, not likely to be the final. Outsourcing just wouldn't be successful for me. I also want to be the one creating it. Kinda a control freak...so of my editing is really bad, tell me! So I can work on it.

Thanks. My son just used a gimbal. no sliders or fluid heads. he's my video guy. He was using a weebil-s from Zhiyun and we just bought a DJI RS2 gimbal. I think it's even smoother.

not at all. i just thought about it because it seems like you're going to get more video work soon. just a backup idea. sometimes it's good to know some options.

I agree. and I know Architectural or designers shoots are very different. For my RE though, sometimes I'm shooting 3-5 a day and my turnaround is the next day. When it's more than two, I outsource but I trained my editors to make sure they replicate my style. I don't wanna be awake all night but even if I want to, I always fall asleep in my chair. it automatically reclines when I passed out. lol

A collage of the edits from the first project that I am done with. Obviously, same house as the video.

We are still in lockdown here in our area so I have been relegated to shooting around the property. We have about a dozen Tree Peonies planted in our garden and this year was a super bloomer year. A macro shot with the Sigma 105 Art Macro.
