Maybe I wasn't clear/concise...but so far I like the 2.0 + 200600 on the A1, not so much on the a9 or the Riv.
But remember one man's opinion who just tries to get an image

I was debating to get a 1.4 or 2x when I get a 200-600 on the a7r3. The 7r4 is close enough

I sold my 1.4x so I wouldn't be tempted to use it anymore.

I have a feeling my 16-35F4 zeiss got sharper with the A7C. Maybe it's just me lol

Bill, could you elaborate on that a bit ? I’ve been considering getting the 1.4. (Currently, I’m using the 200-600 on my A9).

There will be more. Gotta finish up the first project. The pool house project is next.

Still waiting for my gear to show up in Maine. I had to switch carriers for signal issues at the new house, so it was good excuse to upgrade to a 12 Max. Pretty spiffy camera in it.

True Form Astrophotography

I was out at 4am trying to capture the Lunar Eclipse of 2021. Because of the coastal fog rolling in, what was already a short window of capture was drastically shorten to maybe 5-15 minutes depending on your location. By the time I finished setting up in the dark, the fog has arrived and eaten up the Lunar Eclipse. But I still got to see it in person and that's what counts.

Instead, I turned my attention to what is considered as true form astrophotography: A bunch of astrophotographers/pho​tographers packing up their gear in the dark and cold of night, most drowsy in disappointment.

Forecast isn’t great at the minute but hoping for some nice atmospheric type landscape shots - mist, rain, clouds. Not holding much hope for a nice colourful sunset but fingers crossed

Don't forget to bring a nip to warm the tummy when you're out in the cold and damp. I used to keep a bottle of brandy for those times I'd take my boat out fishing at night to ward off the chill.
