The 14 GM arrived today. Super compact and lightweight lens for what it is. Going out this weekend on a hike to test it out.

Sorry to hear that Tim. I have a local dealer that I've done quite a lot of purchasing from and he always comes through for me. I ordered the A1 and the 50GM well into the preorder stage and I was able to get both the day they were scheduled for release. I prefer to work with the local brick and mortar guys unless there is no option because of stock availability in which case I'll order usually through B&H.
Hopefully yours will come in soon.

Like you, I prefer to support local shops if possible. Reading all the posts on FM complaining about BH pre-orders...well you know what they say about misery loving company. :p

Seriously though, with all the sophisticated production and inventory software systems out there, one would hope that Sony could do a better job of communicating shipment quantities to their sellers.

Of course that assumes sellers would then communicate better with the end user.
...

Tim

Beautiful captures with the 24-105 Alfredo!

I’m currently out shooting with mine this afternoon/evening and couldn’t be any happier with the zoom range. I needed 24mm on the wide end, so all those 28-xxxmm zooms would have failed me today.

Beautiful shot Robert! These guys are super rare in the city but I did come across one just recently.

Thanks Jose.
We're still coming to grips with what all is here...many old friends, many new species too.
The AGF is, to me, just glaring in my 'jungle' environment....seems easy prey to stick out so much. But
you know few of them linger long.

Yesterday evening/Sun just down, I looked out the bathroom window and a Pileated Woodpecker was in one of the flower gardens! How funny.
Set up a blind early this morning and gave it an hour before an appointment with no luck :( Will try again tomorrow morning.

Neighbor across the lake flagged me down/showed me a raccoon in a cage, then asked me to shot it....seriously. I asked the lady 'why don't you shoot it?'
She said she didn't have the heart. I told her I had no argument with the raccoon and the 'coon was just doing what coons do (getting at the ladies bird's eggs.
Relocation is the obvious answer but the authorities say if he has rabies you just helping spread it.
I might go over in the morning and do the dirty job for her....then I might see her in a couple of weeks and say I forgot. Dilemma on the mountain ;)

I went with silver. First time ever.
If not raining I'll take it to the river tomorrow and look for a duck. Not even going to try
Swallows with it.
Didn't buy it for that though. In July we have a 3-4 day backpack trip and will time it with Moon phase for a possible
Milky Way shot...the area is the darkest skies within 5 hours of us.
And for times when landscaping but I don't want to carry the big boy.
And as a motivator to sell off the Fuji.
Fuji has been good to me. Quite a few Explores via Fuji....just getting long long in the tooth and one system is enough anymore.

Great shots as always everyone. One more film shot from me taken earlier today. I'll be getting back to my Sony's soon. :-)

In the background is the old Hemet Stock Farm grandstand. It's next to the racetrack used to train and race their horses. This angle was as close as I could get to it. On the Flickr page, you can zoom in and get a better look at it.

(I had the focus set at infinity. I should have focused more like 50' to keep more of the fence in focus too.)

You have both eh? :) Stop giving me devious ideas. :p

I wonder if, at landscape apertures, there is any qualitatively difference between the two…I’d guess not at all. But, there’s great value in having both imo.

Nice images all. Not that there is anything wrong with the chatting, but a page of photos breaks things up nicely :)
