The rendering on that lens is crazy! I'm a fan.

Did you apply sharpening to this? It looks oversharpened to me and I'm wondering if that was from the Super Resolution.

I've sat on this image since last December. Finally processed it in black and white.

Great Sand Dunes National Park

The hike to reach this spot was long and hard but totally worth it.

With the help of Fred (Miranda) was able to get the wireless ftp function to work on the a7c and a7riv with my passport wireless pro ssd. Camera automatically uploads raws to the SSD wirelessly. Not the fastest thing in the world but can basically set the camera down and have it load to the drive automatically.

Pretty cool.

You have both eh? :) Stop giving me devious ideas. :p

I wonder if, at landscape apertures, there is any qualitatively difference between the two…I’d guess not at all. But, there’s great value in having both imo.

Dave

Honestly I would highly doubt that there is any difference between the two at typical landscape apertures. I did see some initial comments about the 12-24 being a bit sharper even in the centre areas but I'm not overly concerned either way, both are top tier lenses and each has it's unique strengths. As great as the 12-24 is it is much larger and heavier than the 14 so for me personally I added the 14 specifically as a hiking lens where weight and bulk are the primary concern, sharpness won't be.

It's a great time to be shooting with Sony.

Sorry to hear that Tim. I have a local dealer that I've done quite a lot of purchasing from and he always comes through for me. I ordered the A1 and the 50GM well into the preorder stage and I was able to get both the day they were scheduled for release. I prefer to work with the local brick and mortar guys unless there is no option because of stock availability in which case I'll order usually through B&H.
Hopefully yours will come in soon.

the local store here doesnt offer sony. I actually preorder/buy stuff from bestbuy and amazon. Surprisingly bestbuy pulled through on the 50gm, received it the following day of release. I have to say I was jealous of Jose for getting his earlier hehe. never preordered a body though so I cannot tell you my experience. well I preordered the original a7 but that was from the official sony site when they had an online/logistics store. with that I think I had to wait for the few days of delivery. I use bestbuy and amazon because I want to take advantage of the 0% finance. it also helps me get the elite(plus) status for bestbuy heheh. longer return policy, free 2-day shipping, few other qwirks.

I went with silver. First time ever.
If not raining I'll take it to the river tomorrow and look for a duck. Not even going to try
Swallows with it.
Didn't buy it for that though. In July we have a 3-4 day backpack trip and will time it with Moon phase for a possible
Milky Way shot...the area is the darkest skies within 5 hours of us.
And for times when landscaping but I don't want to carry the big boy.
And as a motivator to sell off the Fuji.
Fuji has been good to me. Quite a few Explores via Fuji....just getting long long in the tooth and one system is enough anymore.

it's nice to have a change when you normall get all black :)

How do you find the iso performance on the fuji? I have a hard time pulling the trigger knowing that sony has a ful frame that is about the same size and cost. but I think when it comes to crop, fuji is a good option. also having to get lenses can become a headache and having to drop more funds. that's why the x100v is so attractive to me, it looks nice, small, good performing, good fixed lens. BUT! add a few more 100's and I can get the a7c which I already have lenses for. the choice is hard, oh the drama. jk
