Flying Corgis! I like that!
All I did was use a long piece of paracord to pull the bloom to where he'd been landing.
After the blooms fall I'll remove the paracord.

FE 200-600mm G:

Topaz Sharpen AI did some nice work here to recover this image from my too-low shutter speed mistake. This zipliner is crossing the roiling Chattahoochee River below from Phenix City, Alabama over to the Columbus, Georgia side.

Help Vinz, or anybody with A7C.
Issue. Normally the center large focus square looks like the diagram on the left.
Quite a few times now it splits in two and looks like the diagram on the right when looking
through the viewfinder.
Eye AF still works.
Anyone heard of this issue?
It also happens when looking in the menus.
Something I'm missing in the setup options?

Thanks for any thoughts.

It only happens when using the EVF with the LCD turned inwards, right? I have the same issue with mine.

I did some research and it seems to be a common issue. There are several on DPReview that mentioned experiencing it. Like some of them, I am hopeful that a firmware update will correct.

Thanks for responding.
I can't answer exactly because I always keep the LCD turned inward.
...and also turn off touch screen on any camera I've ever owned.
But I'll give it a go with the LCD turned out.
Thanks again, now I'm a bit relieved that it is a common occurrence among others
so Sony should be addressing it.

When I'm macro'ing outside I've got the body and lens of course but also the flash and the big (but very lightweight) flash diffusor I made.
So any weight savings is good. So another plus for the A7C.
I could use some more pinky purchase with it and thus have ordered a cage for it...more room for the pinky and some added protection from
the dings inevitable/but not video aspirations in mind.

Here's a shot using one of the Flame Azeleas.

Easy to set this shot up. Plenty of blooms all over the yard.

Adobe’s latest Photoshop update:

Adobe has wrecked my sweet sweet Save as jpeg Action that I created several years ago. I created the complicated save actions to maximize the quality of my downsized jpegs for Flickr. The action still works fine except for the very end where it wants to change my save filename to “Screen.jpg” instead of leaving as [Original Filename].jpg. Super-annoying. vmad

yeah, the photography world is all a buzz about it...I never updated to 2021, well, I did, and then went back to 2020 since 2021 was about as stable as the town drunk on Friday night. I use Save As all the time, I mean all the time...and they have neutered it.

I was out for the weekend with the family, school ended last week and we took our little trip to the beach, just the 3 of us. Not much photography was done, I got up yesterday and this morning for sunrise. I managed a few images I am pretty happy with...some others that are ok, and some details that are a change of pace. I paid handsomely for them all too, the flying vampires and horse flies and no-seeums took their ransom from my arms, legs, feet and neck...

this is one of those details. From blue hour before the sun was up. The mostly clear sky was shading everything in a really nice cool tone. I wish I had focus stacked this one, but didn't.

Maybe I should give up shooting in the rain? Kinda frustrating but
I can sit inside only so long eh, the kit does fine in the rain. This is two times
I've been in deep soaking rain with the 200600 and no cover on it at all; so I have
faith in Sonys sealing (so far haha).
But one of these days I'll get to shoot them in the Sun and won't know what to do.
