When I first laid eyes on this, the first thing that popped into my head was Starry Night by Van Gogh.

A7C split EVF report.
Per GGWECI's suggestion I turned the LCD out for this mornings walkabout.
Put a screen protector on it :)
I could not reproduce the split screen phenomena with the LCD facing out.
OK, it's a workaround.
Wish there was one for the A1's EVF blackout issue :)

A bit of tape with a 4mm hole really helps the EVF problem.

I thought the same thing. It had the similar swirl effect of the brush strokes.

One from Driftwood Beach. This is one of the big old trees that is somehow still standing. The shoreline has changed a lot since my last visit two years ago. Part of it I didn't ever recognize anymore.

Anyone have any ideas or solutions for a secure box/case for the boot ;) (trunk) of the car to keep the camera (hiking) bag in please?

Buy. Build. Adapt.....

Could you build one out of ply and then carpet the outside (with stretchy automotive carpet)? You could secure it to the car itself so it can’t be lifted out or even make it quick release so you can remove it if you want without it being obvious to others how to remove

Remember I share the wins and losses.
Today was a bust. High was 58F (Lee that is 14.4c).
Constant rain.
But we went out anyway....to the swampy area uplake where the cattails grow hoping for a RWBB.
Found one, but not on a cattail.
That's the looser shot. Just a downpour, all of us soaked to the bone and cold for hours after (yes I had a rain jacket).
So back inside for a boredom shot using the FE20/1.8 and a crop from same.

Lee, how 'bout a metal box sized to suit with flanges. Simply bolt to the floor of the boot?
In my 4Runner I have a slide out drawer system that is all metal under the carpet on all sides and is lockable. Many system like this are made depending on what you want to do.

I was going to do it full depth (about 700mm) x 300w x 250h which should fit my Osprey backpack & sit it to one side of the boot. Because it sits 'in' the boot I might make a light metal frame work & then it'll just need a side & a hinged top as the other side & base & front & rear wont have access anyway.

Edit - finding a decent looking solution is proving the most difficult with using a padlock :-D

You could pimp it out with a biometric lock

The curfew is finally lifted, and to celebrate I slipped in to the other side of the river for some street-like evening shots downtown. Looking forward to doing Park expeditions to try and catch the sunset sometime this week/this weekend. Both of these with the Samyang 45, which is growing on me.

Happy Memorial Day to all.

Thanks!

I just noticed you had the 30mm Macro in your gear list...what do you think of it? I've looked at a few YouTube reviews, and it seems to be rather good despite its age, I wondered if I should pick it up for my a6600. I'm missing not having macro, but at the same time I do little enough of it that I can't quite justify the Sigma 105 at this point (I also want to wait and see if Tamron comes up with its own macro lens as well, for a full frame option).

Non photo question to the group...

When building a new website, would you focus on your favorite images by genre, or by project, location client galleries?

My current site has genres and then sub galleries for every location, client etc. I am building a new site and thinking it might just be a portfolio showcase instead of a collection of smaller galleries. More eye candy, less navigation on the site.

My immediate reaction is there are likely several right/best answers depending on what your specific goal for the website is.

I think my suggestion is to develop a clear sense of what your goal or objective is and then find concept direction from precedent-worthy websites that share the same goal or objective as you and then iterate off of them. Leverage the already-established greatness of others. :)

And this raises a potentially fun activity for this group: finding and sharing favorite photography gallery websites. I nearly never look at photographer’s websites and it would be fun to be exposed to a few of them.

Yeah, there are several right answers. My goal it to make it a portfolio display. If a potential client wants to see representative work, I can direct them to the site and they can see pretty pictures...as pretty as I can produce. I don't want to to be a ton of navigation, requiring bread crumbs to find your way out. I want it to be more visual. I have looked at a ton of photography websites...I have looked up most of the well known photographers I know and am not generally excited. There are some that stand out...our very own Alfredo has a very nice, well thought out, well laid out clean site. And I like it. There are others, well known folks, that it looks a hot mess...and I know why, it is all about keywords and SEO. At the end of the day I want to create something that is uniquely mine, and I have ideas about how to accomplish that, but am stuck on the page hierarchy, because it really needs to be built with that in mind.
