New Nik Collection 4. New user interface. I will be testing it and likely buying it.

It might be worth it to me if it scales up for my 4k monitor. I still use the original, free Nik Collection but I can barely read the print.

Maybe a Beech 18 ?

Yes, it probably is. I think Tim was correct on this identification too.

Poking around a bit it seems to be N62936, which is a Beech D18S, registered to the prop and jet museum of Riverside CA. Looks like a fun airfield to poke around!

Thanks for taking the time to find the number for this aircraft. There are several very interesting aircraft here, many I've photographed in the past. I still have a couple more to edit and post from the other day as well.

Here's my Flickr Album of aircraft at the Hemet/Ryan Airport.

Lloyd M. Venable was my 1st cousin 1x removed. He was a crop-dusting pilot for many years and owned the Hemet Valley Flying Service. He was a flying instructor at the Ryan Aeronautics School which trained US Army Air Corps cadet pilots. In 1959, his service began to use its planes to put out fires. They would convert WWII airtankers and Navy patrol aircraft for firefighting duty. Today, Cal-Fire has a base at Hemet/Ryan and this monument to Lloyd is in front of their headquarters along with one of their aircraft.

I remember as a kid him taking my dad, sister, and me up for an airplane ride.

And just for good measure here is the 35mm version.

What do you guys prefer? 16, 24 or 35?

I like them both but since the subject is the rock formation, I prefer the first image and the separation from the background.

I posted too soon! :-) But, I think I still like the first image best.

Thanks for commenting Gene, I just reposted the 35mm one again as I accidentally uploaded the wrong edit first time

Yeah I like the 24mm version, just a hint of the lake, but better detail on those killer rocks.

Thanks Travis

This shot was taken the day before the shots above at Neist Point Lighthouse. First time using my Firecrest 10 stop but I must say the colour cast is negligible and the files are much easier to handle than my Lee filters 10 and 6 stop images as they always have a tricky blue cast to them.

This was 60 seconds

Kept strolling down hoping for a closer up of the graphic near the nose.
Really nice airplane.
