Never tried it. I've only used it the once for stars

Something to look into.I was hoping this weekend was going to be good, but it's only Sat/Sun at the moment. We're torn between Durdle door on the south coast or Stonehenge! A Milkyway shot over Stonehenge would be epic. Sony A1, A7R2

Another idea I just had was to polar align the tracker as normal but set it to rotate in the wrong direction. You could then create one of those star trail photos out of stacked images that rotate around Polaris. My thinking is the rotation in the wrong direction will help accelerate the star trails since you effectively have things moving at twice the speed so it should cut down the total time required to shoot enough shots for a full spiral. All hypothetical at this stage but it sounds right in my head ![]() PS - I’m ordering mine tonight, your previous image tipped me over the edge Yes. Alignment then setting the MSM to Southern halves your star trail capture time. Apparently, I've not tried it. Obviously a foreground blend is needed.
