You wally!! Fingers crossed it has no impact on using it mate!

I've not really thought of doing longer focal lengths or deep space stuff yet. I might do 85mm images once I've got the hang of wider stuff & everything starts to come naturally. Deep space doesn't really interest me just yet. Plus I've only really got the 85mm with a reasonable aperture.

Lee, found the video. Realise now it was actually 200mm on the MSM and it also wasn’t andromeda. If you skip to 6:50 for the finished image.

This guys channel is pretty good too

Nice watch. Amazing image! Gave me a break from sewing! I'm putting some extra attachments on my 65L cheap hiking bag!!

I am really at 85mm for that but it might give me something if I pick a wider target/area maybe. I don't think the Contax will cut it at f/4-5.6!!

Yeah might be pushing it at f/4 2 mins. Reckon the 85 should still do nicely albeit a wider view. Going to try that myself with the 85 when the tracker comes

It is the inescapable immutable rule of the universe that no cool new photo gear shall ever be:
1. Delivered on time, or
2. Delivered early in the day during daylight hours, or
3. Delivered on a good weather day.

Today the universal constant amost failed. My 12-24GM was miraculously delivered early today in the AM. Wow, that gave me loads of time to immediately get out and enjoy the new lens! Inevitably though, universal order was promptly restored by a constant string of thundershowers that have been passing through here all day long.

BTW, while it might be impressive that FedEx finally shipped me a package on time (first time in a year), they still get an ‘F’ grade by running across our lawn and dumping the package on our doorstep and speeding off. This was a package that required a signature release and that never happened.

Congrats! Bad weather? That’s perfect for shooting some dramatic images.

By the way, not sure how I survived living in Houston for 10 plus years. I’m here in NW Arkansas and the heat and humidity is crazy tough. I’m so used to the dry heat.

I just looked and it is 90% humidity right now where I am. Yuck!!

It would indeed be cool to shoot one of today’s several storms, but I’ve still got a little PTSD from our house getting hit by lightning last month.

Honestly, forgot all about that. Was a bit odd the first time I used it but I don't even notice it anymore. Doesn't take anything away from the beautiful rendering of this lens.

Delivery people in our area never bother to even ring the front door bell, even with a small sign posted right next to it stating to do so when dropping off packages, never mind actually getting a signature.
