Did you manage to catch some stars there mate?

Just checked the driving time for me there and it’s 6 hours 46 mins according to google maps :-P

Yes Eddie 8-) Driving out (eastwards) it looked really dull & murky but when we got there the stars started to show up a lot more & there was a big sigh of relief  We left just after sunset, got home just before sunrise. Proper vampires!! :p

But if you spent two weeks on the road...... :p Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Peak District, Snowdonia, Brecons, Cotswolds, Stonehenge, New Forest, Jurassic Coast, Dartmoor...... ;-)a

Going to bore you all with trip images for a while.
Here's a Green Heron. We have them here too believe it or not though
I rarely see them.

As far as photography goes you can note this bierd was in deep shadow and I pulled 2 stops in post.
As almost always using the 1.4 on the 200600. Without it I'd gotten few shots.

Ed you might remember a comment that I've hiked on the AT a lot in Maine, but looking the harbor scene reminds me that Maine has
tons and tons of island hopping kayaking begging. Something you might be into?
One of my kayaks is a Lincoln Eggemoggin made in Maine :)

You probably know my answer. The greatest wildlife lens EVER.
It was what finally convinced me to off with the Canon 400DOii which as an emotional experience ;)
Only complaint is the weight of course but you're young so that's not an issue.

Noticed before our trip that a6600 prices had dropped...a sign?
I would grab an a6600 for Poof. Only one thing that ifs me about it and that is micro-usb.
My world is 99% USB-C now. A small thing but even the dinky Fuji X-T30 charges USB-C.

I'm sure I'm not the only to say, but once you've NOT had to orient the plug-in your sold that
USB-C was long long overdue. Plus now with Display Port capability, 45W charging capability, etc.
USB-C is just a charm.

I might still get her one; at least it would all be the big Sony battery then.

Well I'm dealing with an A7C now....talk about missing buttons and wheels! But it is doable.
Makes me wonder what the a6600 replacement will bring to the table.
I still like having a crop body and why I still have an X-T4 though lately I'm thinking it is finally time
to be in just one ecosystem.

Yep I’ve moved to usb-c and fast chargers too. Much more convenient and no more trying it in the hole 3 orientations before getting it right :)

Tons of kayakers around here, and I am going to give it a try, but I have to find someone who can teach an old disabled dude. With only one leg, I obviously need assistance launching and recovering, but should be OK once i get going. ;-)a
