He lives in Fontana California. He and I talked about it a couple years ago when I was in Joshua Tree. I found enough to get his address. No reply to email, and I did not find an obituary, I looked.

Yeah, that was his last post, a long dry spell for Gene.

He mentioned and posted some photos with a daughter. If he has FaceBook (I don't do FB) maybe his family or daughter could be traced through that and inquired?

I looked on FB but couldn't find him. I'll see if I can find his daughter.

I agree with the sentiment here (if I understand it correctly)...It's good have concern for Gene, but it's probably best to not post that info just that here, regardless of whether it could be legit obtained by analyzing the photos he's posted here.

The contact page on his website is removed and he says its bcos he has been spammed/hacked.
Its entirely possible he has just gone off grid to clear that.
Given that I too agree we should be careful about posting contact details, addresses etc.

Saturday/Sunday on a local beach. Not the best for light pollution facing the Milky Way but I think they will be okay.......

This was a non-tracked but stacked shot facing more south later in the morning. I fired the shots off quickly as I knew the sky would be getting light pretty soon.

I didn't even take separate foregrounds!!

Cheers. Milky Way one are pretty much done now too. I almost went back last night under a 90% moon for North facing star trails but it's so hot here at the moment sleep isn't the easiest and I didn't fancy getting in at 3am and getting up at 6am for work!

To those of you sharing addresses, phone numbers and even aerial photos of other people on the forum, it is not safe for them and possible not legal.

Please stop this.
