It was so dark, that without headlights, you could easily get turned around. Until the moon came up, I am pretty sure that it was the most remote, darkest place I have ever been. And it was awesome. Photography has been such a huge part of my life, it has allowed me to meet so many people, be in community with great creatives, like the folks here! I don't know where I would be today if it wasn't for photography. Memory card failures, corrupt cards, camera hanging or crashing, or freezing or just plain dying? No where near frequent use, but I haven't experienced anything like that. It has been exposed humid and high temperatures. From cold car to outside on a hot humid day is quite a thermal shock to man and equipment alike. Neal

Between coastal fog and smoke from wildfires, visibility for Milky Way images is just not happening for us. Thanks. We've not had much chance at all the past month or so. This was one lucky night on holiday where we had an hour before the low cloud came in & the last night we tried but there was just too much sea fog rolling in....

TRhoads Cream of the Crop More info | Aug 25, 2021 16:43 | #50263 gaabnz wrote in post #19275799 Also, google this up - What is ISO Invariance (An ISO-less Camera)? The short answer is that ISO invariance means that a camera will produce the exact same image quality by staying at ISO (or whatever the base ISO is on the camera) and dramatically underexposing the photo and then brightening it up again in Lightroom, as if you had shot the camera at the proper ISO in the first place. I think the a7iii is ISO invariant and I have played with it a couple of times and really pushed the exposure in post. It does seem to work, but I'm used to my normal method. You will have to have a look at google to see if your body shoots this way. Yep, that is what I was referring to, just trying to explain it a bit.
