The reason I want at least 3 nights on site for a shoot...getting good light. The first two nights, the light wasn't great, last night, the last night on site, good light, nice wispy clouds. It is a treat to be able to photograph a building that I have been involved with since it was a sketch on trash paper. It isn't award winning, cutting edge high glamour architecture, but there is still a certain satisfaction had when walking around the building after designing, drawing and managing the construction.

Travis, remember that focus stacked image I mentioned testing Helicon Focus on. Here is the final result after lots of tinkering and editing.

Can’t wait to use my a1. I have had zero time for photography for a while…too busy tearing up the house prepping for new flooring, doors, windows, kitchen, and porch.

The a1 is just the ideal magic camera imo…a rare jack-of-all-genres that is also an actual master-of-all-genres.

David your not helping me trying to avoid getting an A1 lol I’m waiting to see what the A7IV brings and how it compares to the A9II. That will make my decision on which companion to the A7RIV I have.

Not to make it anymore difficult for you but personally it's the best camera I have ever owned, I'm super happy with mine. I shoot landscapes, macro and Birds and having a camera that can do it all in the way that it does has been a game changer for me.

Its funny, still being in a lockdown here in Auckland NZ and not finding the motivation to look photo's I've taken. Finally managed to get out on Wednesday night to shoot this astro shot. Its made up of 6 x 3 shot stacks. Very happy it came out as we had a half moon directly overhead. Single shots you can see nothing. The stacking has worked very well.

I got to the beach before sunset and also shot some surfers. These were shot on a Canon mount Tamron 150-600G2. A lot of out of focus shots. Would love to try the Sony 200-600 and see how that focuses.

Hoping all this lockdown stuff ends soon. Hope you are all well :)

Good to get out though I bet!! I've still got stuff to edit & upload but I've been trying to find/think of local locations for winter night sky stuff - landscape constellations, star trails etc

Cheers Lee, so frustrating being stuck at home. Self employed too, so very little income coming in. Stressful time all round

This thursday I get to go to the Gila Bend Bombing Range with Luke Airforce base.

They are going to demonstrate F35s F16s A-10s and some Apache Helio copters - day bombing and....... then Night bombing runs.

So I am trying to figure out how to shoot the night time....... do you think just long shutter and get the lights tracking then dropping all in one shot?

I got to take my friend TJ to Old Car City today. Fun was had, pictures were taken. I was only looking for interesting play of light. This one caught my eye. The sunlight would light up the red resin and it would glow. It was so cool. I had never seen this hood ornament in all of my visits. I was using the Canon 100L macro on the a1 all day. TJ had the 90 Macro since he seems to have issues with adapted lenses on his A7r2.
