for the past few years i've been trying to get out for an autumn leaves drive...so this year i spent a few days in vermont .. and it never fails..nothing but gray skies.

unfortunately my job requires me to put in for vacation one year ahead..so i can't pick and choose.

BenQ user myself and couldn’t be happier. I think your making a fine choice.

I've had my eye on that monitor for almost a year now, it was impossible to find in stock anywhere but it looks like it available via a number of difference sources. My only concern at the moment is going from a dual 27 inch setup to a single 32.

I communicated with Robert a few days ago. He (they) are traveling right now.

Thanks for the update Bill, that's good to know.

You're welcome. I was concerned since he hadn't posted anything to his Flickr page in a while either. Thought they might be on the road but it was good to confirm.

First edit from the trip this week. Found a new spot in the park, happens every time I go. It felt like being a rookie again, trying to learn the new camera, things are in different places, menus are all different, so it was good to get to spend a few days focusing on photography. I am really happy with this thing...

nice!!
I actually like what they have to offer for the a74. Previous a7's have a lower resolution lcd/evf, but this one is an upgrade from the a7r4 (as it should be for how long it took them to release...). You will definitely notice sony's new colors on this one and will be pleased with it. This is a better upgrade than the a9 imo.

your patience had paid off.

now the waiting game... :P

I'm one of the few that prefers tilt screen. I use the tilt more in landscape than vertical. it's a bit of hassle to have to pull out the screen and then flip it to do a tilt. also the screen being off on the side of the camera throws me off hehe. but whatever, still gotta get use to it and by time I may grow to like it over the tilt.

thanks for the notice. his last picture wasn't a very pleasing one. but it seems it was nothing and he's still capable of maneuvering in the mountains and jungles :D

They are calling it a baby A1 so we shall see if that’s the case! Personally I like the tilt more. The swivel out reminds me of a camcorder which of I use it’s in limited aspects. Even when I set up the camera to take pictures of us I place it on a tripod or use image connect on my phone. But we shall see what uses I get out of the screen. Just wish it had the 5m EVF the A7R4 has.

Nope no new camera bag. :) I still use my Tenba Cooper slim 13. With peak design capture pro clip attached. It’s going 5 years strong. Can hold my camera with the a lens attached, has another slot to hold another lens and can pack the MacBook Pro with no issue :). Here it is from 5 years ago when even Tenba reached out to me to ask how the bag held up with the capture pro and camera attached this way. 5 years later and going 100% strong.

The camera is a trap

Focus breathing correction…. That’s insane, going to force me getting all Sony lenses in the long run (ordered). I do have some interesting new lenses, the sigma 90, absolutely love it. Sigma 24 dg dn, so far, pretty darn nice, however likely stick to native. Samyang 24 f1.8 I have as well, excellent optics and less expensive.

Have a cool bag too, mindshift rotation 22L, very interesting field bag, Very interesting

Your never over sharing. From someone who lives in the concrete jungle of NYC these are refreshing to see! And motivating me to head up into the Hudson valley a bit more :)

Thank you! I can only imagine living in NYC. I've visited it once and my head was spinning after a few days.

I once asked a photography friend where he finds his water abstract images, he told me that the trick was not to look for them. I now understand what he meant. I was not intentionally looking for these water reflections but there they were along a river on a hike this morning (10/22/21).

Blue sky reflected in water with a sprinkling of trees with some late fall color.
