Went looking for snowies this morning and found this guy. Unfortunately didn't let me get a clear shot, lots of reeds in the frame.

We spotted a Barred last night homing from dinner. 9pm, no camera, just a moment of admiration. Thanks Robert. I went back to the same spot that I spotted one last week and I came across this individual, last week's was a juvenile that let me get pretty close to him, not this guy unfortunately. I took quite a number of different shots of this owl from different perches however unlike last week which was overcast, today was a particularly sunny day so in the majority of the shots the owls eyes were almost closed with the exception of this series where he had his back to the sun and the turquoise water of the lake. I spent quite a bit of time just starring at him and him starring back at me, just a fantastic experience, these are my favourite raptor by far. Sony A1, A7R2
