Geez Jose…you’re capturing some impressive wildfie art. I like the formation (and your framing) and the overall atmosphere in this.

Thanks David, I normally don't pay much attention to these guys but I really like the tones of this one.

TUESDAY I FLY.... F16 2 seater ..... need to figure out if I can secure the camera somehow!!!

WOW, what an amazing experience that would be.

This is a really cool shot Rob, would love to get a shot of these guys flying. I must be spoiled here in my area, Buffleheads are really common at this time of the year and they are easily approachable:-). There was a large flock of them mingling with the local Mallards a couple of days ago.

City Buffles vs. remote mountain Buffles :)
Jose that is a gorgeous shot and very well exposed for.
Just know I'm jealous having to resort to trickery for them.

I want a 600/4….. but it’s not the weight that’s holding me back ! :p :p :p

Haha! You've got that big thing spinning in your yard. Let it spin one up for you!
Shooz, how cold is it your way? We should hit 0F in the morning. We're at the point in the cycle where the snow and ice of 4 days
ago is only getting piled on by more snow as I type.

Im trying to get to Bosque Del Apache in the next few weeks...... Hearing its a good year there

Eriet you should go! You're so close. 17 hour drive for us...not happening this year. But 'blast-off' is something everyone should experience.
We're mulling a Florida trip. That will make 4 trips in 4 months for us. Not bad considering all the machinations of the world.

A totally clear blue sky is not always best and I made a change with one of my sky images here. I was able to load one into the Sky Replacement command in Photoshop but have only been able to the one.

I had to go back into the archives and find a couple Buffleheads...for the second one, I had been trying to pan them like race cars...slower at some points, but they just don't look as cool as race cars when they are all slow pan blurry...

I had been told ahead of time to try to time them as they dive...this was as close as I got to getting them just as they touch the water...he was just above.

I should have gone back with the a1 this year to see if AF was better than the a9 for this. I know the resolution would have been.

Having a 600 f/4 would be sweet too...

10 star Travis.
Yeppers, Buffles are a challenge. Even if close like Jose's they are a challenge to expose for...even harder than a Bald Eagle. Well I got my checkmark and
am done with them ;)

I finally added a Garmin InReach to me bag...I have always had a small first aid kit, capable of dealing with something minor...but really felt that with the more I do solo, and the trip to DV coming up that is going to be in the remote parts of the park, some sort of emergency communication device would be good.

Very smart 'cause you just never know.
One reason why I maintain my ham license....no cell signal here at the house but I can always find someone hamming it up.

First and probably last attempt at doing a self portrait with black lights and glow in the dark paint.

I like the shot but probably won't ever try copying that style. :)
