Sony A1 owners a new firmware is available:

Benefits and Improvements

  • Allows you to select M and S sizes in addition to L when using the RAW recording lossless compression method
  • Adds the 4:2:2 10bit selection when shooting XAVC HS 8K
  • Allows proxy recording during a remote computer connection
  • Improves the accuracy of the Eye AF feature
  • Fixes an issue where the remote shooting may not work with Imaging Edge Desktop (Remote)
  • Improves the stability of the custom white balance
  • Improves the operational stability of the camera

now my GAS goes to A1. It's impossible for me to own one though. I hope the future A7R5 will have SML raw options.

The A1 is a beast. My 7r4 just sits there now.... ok thats a lie but still if im running out the door the A1 is it. I can see a future where i dont upgrade the 7r4 but wait a few years and get a A1v2

I just finished installing this. I'm glad I still have a Windows PC, sounds like the OSX procedure for M1s is involved. Mine took about 12 minutes. Time to go out and see I can tell any difference. :-)

Ugh don’t say that! Lol I will be updating via an M1 Mac lol

Yeah, I was super surprised too… especially considering I haven’t been able to hit on anything from the SNKRS app in like 6 months, even GR, non-hype stuff.

Seems like we are in the same boat! Used to hit quite often but not so much these days. My frequency was better before they went to the draw system for everything.

Think we might be talking about different things :-) EDC = Ever day carry (for me)

Ha! I was thinking electronic daisy carnival! But yes the EDC bag is a great one. I have the V2 and comes super handy.

I upgraded from the R4 after its focus system couldn’t keep up with my son. Best decision I ever made. Kids grow up fast and those moment never come back.

A7 & Peak Slide users…. Do you prefer the regular slide or the slide lite for the A7?

I like the slide lite. the regular slide is just too wide :P
