Have you always been in Buffalo?? This is my first winter back south after 5 straight there. It's freezing here, but I must say a break from blizzards has been nice!

Next week will be back to really nice in the South again. Weird thing is that this year's winter forecast (SE USA) was for above-normal temperatures, but this insane polar blast has been super freaky and I'm way more than ready for it to pass!

After living here for the last seven years, I sometimes miss the snow, but never the cold.

The A1 is finally in the gear data base....well I can't find it...

This picture is not perfect...because I often forget that f/1.4 is really shallow...really...but this picture almost didn't happen. FOr most of you, those not on FB which is most...my wife spent 32 days in the hospital followed by 30 days in a PT rehab center. The first 25 days in the hospital were full of moments that we were not sure if she was going to make it out. As her Dr told us yesterday, she was actively dying. It has been a very rough year, after what was not an easy year last year...I am ready to put this one behind us.

Sorry you guys went through that but good to hear she pulled through! I'm sure it was especially tough n your daughter.

Regarding f1.4....if I don't shoot for a bit, one of the signs of the rust is getting too eager with f1.4 lol. It's def a delicate balance between maximizing that bokeh we all chase, keeping the iso low when it's dark, and having enough DOF for the shot.

Good shot and daughter is getting big!

For the first time I spotted a Brown Headed Nuthatch in my yard today...it was 13 degrees outside and the bird activity was off the charts.
